"The Bulls are not the top notch program they once were, leaving UK to coach the Bulls would be like giving up the Yankees to coach the Brewers, IMO. Cal is at the premier program in his field and I don't see him leaving without a Ring, he'll never quiet the critics until without one, and that's gotta hurt the pride."

http://kentucky.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?f...88&style=2

Cal's pride will be hurt much much more if he doesn't steal Jones; Kanter isn't eligible, he has 5 quality D1 players this season with no power forward, finishes in the middle of the pack in the $EC, flames out in the first round of the tournament; then has to recruit 10 players for next year because Harrelson graduates; and Knight and another player leave for the league next season.

IMO, that will be the determinant to how hard Cal goes after an NBA job with LeBron. My thinking before this season was that I wanted Cal to leave and screw Kentucky. IF Cal doesn't get Jones and Kanter; my thinking is that I would like him to stay another couple of years at Kentucky and get his truly deserved punishment; which would be going from the top of the mountain at Memphis; to the bottom of the barrel by being fired at Kentucky.

That is the only fair result and it would make everyone on the planet happy.

HAHA!

I honestly wouldn't suprised to see either of the following happen:
-Calipari becomes the Bulls coach. Lebron James decides to come to Chicago. Lebron with DRose running the point would do pretty well.
-Calipari becomes the Nets coach only if the Nets get the No.1 pick, John Wall. Lebron decides to come to NJ. Again easy to win with those two.

Cal knows he can't win it all with next years talent. He possibly could in 2011 but with all of the fishy stuff going on in Lexington I honestly don't think he's going to be able to avoid the NCAA for that long.

CDR would be a happier camper too.

RE: X's dream job...Chicago Bulls?
Just my guess, but i think X stays in the ncaa until his hand is forced by accusations and heat from the ncaa or he wins a championship. Whichever comes first.

I have been saying it for months now. Imo, if X does happen to go to the nba, it will be to chicago or new york.

Concerning del negro, if it does indeed happen, i will be glad. He seemed in over his head, though i like him personally and respect his career. Chicago needs to hire someone who can help derrick rose take it to the next level. I see a couple names there i would rather see there. I'm not so sure X would be the right guy for the job. Imo, it's been proven over the last couple years that X's biggest advantage was WWW bringing in the best talent for him. Seriously, he had a super team in '08 and this year, and he hasn't even got a final 4 to his name yet.

I don't know why lebron wants him as a coach. He already has a dumb coach. If lebron did happen to come to chicago, the bulls would become an eastern powerhouse again. Lebron should be thinking about that.

Check the memphis highlights. 04-bow This guy makes good derrick rose videos.

RE: X's dream job...Chicago Bulls?
hmmm what do we have here?

Quote:Kentucky coach John Calipari is intrigued with the Chicago Bulls’ coaching job and would be willing to listen to a pitch from management, NBA and NCAA sources told Yahoo! Sports on Tuesday.

Sources say the combination of roster talent, tradition and market make Chicago one of the few NBA jobs that could pry Calipari out of Kentucky. The Bulls have been hesitant to pay the $4 million-$5 million annual packages it would take to lure high-profile coaches like Calipari.

Hasn't connected with Ky's admin.?
hahaha!!!! His past and their's go hand in hand.
I thought they wanted him because he is perfect for the job.
You know- make us relevant again-whatever it takes. But, make us relevant.
Hasn't connected?
Is this kind of like the KY approach to recruiting? "If they don't come to Ky then we didn't offer them."
Only here it's,"If coach wants to leave, it's because the administration doesn't like him."
Whatever.

He's interested in a pay raise at his current job, not a new job.

If that's the case, then it should be obvious to everyone-naysayers, doubters and even the the KY lunatic fan base, that he indeed left Memphis to get away from the sanctions and stay 1 step ahead of the NCAA.

If offered, he'd take it. Normally I would not give it much of a chance, but the X-factor (no pun intended) is that William Wesley is within a couple of weeks of officially becoming an agent for coaches.

one poster on there asked if Cal did leave...would they go after Pastner?
They (UK fans) can down us for being 'lil Ole Memphis' all they want...but they sure want to play our brand of ball and be us for some reason.

Wouldn't matter....Fred and Co would NOT lose another coach to UK and unlike his predecessor, Pastner wouldn't be running away from an NCAA investigation. Memphis has already shown that they'll out pay UK for the coach if they want him.

Seriously! It's a decent job with a lot of upside. Chicago is a great basketball city and he'll be more known and get more press than at UKsuck. He'll also have Rose and more than enough room under the new cap to get the likes of Bosh and/or Wade (not to mention maybe even James.). A chicago team of Rose, Bosh and Wade could be really really good.

yeah, saw that reply on ESPN boards.
Besides, Pastner is too clean for them people. Rupp was dirty, Hall was somewhat....and we all know Sutton was a crook too. Which is why X feels so at home there. He sold his soul to Satan a long time ago to just win.
Pastner doesn't have that taint....and hopefully if he stays here...never will.

See, now there's going to be a rumor on Catspause about UK not wanting Pastner because something is wrong with his crotch...

Hmm, the way it was put to me a few weeks ago was that he was unhappy with his situation, b/c he thought the UK fans were crazy. I'm sure the KittyPaws denizens will love to hear that, lol.

Apparently, they are more "miserable" than we are. A few weeks ago, before they got a few late great commitments, UK fans were questioning EVERYTHING about his coaching, his recruiting, etc.

Pitino called them the Lexington loonies.
I'm betting Cal....like Gene Bartow before him, is wishing he hadn't left. Or at the very least wishing he hadn't gone where he did.

I dare say it would top even that of the Lame Kiffin fiasco. One of the Kentuck fans was saying now he wished he hadn't ribbed his UT friends so bad about Kiffin hauling a--. I knew better than to do that, and even felt a twinge of their pain, having BTDT. Well, maybe a SLIGHT empathy. But it quickly returned to FUT.

Do you think the Ky hillbillies will chase him out of town, if he doesn't slink away in the night? Burn mattresses and dressers in the street as they riot? Throw Makers Mark bottles at his house? Crash and burn their blue special edition mustangs? Will X take his secretary again? I bet that woman is getting tired of moving. The sno cone machine? Will he say the bbq in Lexington was horrible and the Derby is cruel? 03-lmfao

Since we're piling on royally at this point, I dare say that most of the college basketball world will be laughing their arses off over the "Massacre in Lexington" should "X to Chi-town" actually occur. 03-lmfao 04-cheers
