Another Huskies verbal...
Edgy Tim is reporting that Cameron Stingily (6-2, 230), a Rivals 3-Star LB from Romeoville, recently called up Coach Kill after a visit this past weekend and just pledged to the Huskies.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/edgytim/football...gily-92055

We got him over Eastern Michigan and Illinois State, but it looks like he was setting up to be a fall back plan for a handful of schools as well, including Michigan St and Louisville.

It seems to me that their recruiting plan of patience and gambling (Osei and a few southern kids are still strongly considering) is going pretty well, but feel free to go on and look for the negatives in Kill and Fleck grabbing their 4th 3-star prospect in the class...

I like his size. So far, I am quite happy with the verbals. I just wish they would verbal sooner, the waiting sucks.

Cameron is a beast. I've seen his play aeveral times. Claerly the best player on the field in most cases. Great addition. With Hellems from Bolingbrook and Cameron from Romeoville, we are grabbing some great LBs for the future.

Since Bolingbrook and Romeoville don't play each other anymore, nobody will have to deprogram the "Kill The Ville" chant from Hellams' head.

That rivalry used to be ugly.

Rivalry use to be great!! Not anymore since all of the Bolingbrook kids now go to BHS. No more Bolingbrook kigs going to RHS.

Again, kudos to Edgy Tim for the quotes, as Stingily actually touched on that in the report:

http://edgytim.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1027300

"I was able to hang out with Mike Hellams from Bolingbrook all weekend long. Mike's a real good guy even though he's from Bolingbrook (laughing). See, Romeoville and Bolingbrook can get along after all I guess. In all seriousness Mike was really great along with the rest of the recruits and the players at NIU. NIU really does have a great family atmosphere and I'm really excited about my decision."

A verbal to NIU is one step closer to signing, as compare to verbal to another school. Let us celerbate this first step.

I think Delegal plays inside in pass situations. Maybe someone else knows, but he seems out there quite a bit on pass downs.

Love this pic from your website, "The two things that would make this picture perfect would be if JO was wearing boxing gloves and if Don King was in the background"

Would not be surprised if Stingily or Hellams moves to the outside so they can be on the field together.

Scout.com projects Cameron as OLB (#136). Not like it means anything.

ESPN rates Cameron #71 ILB.

Another great recruit for Kill.
What is the record number of 3 star recruits we have signed in a given year?

4 in 2003. But that class had 24 players including the infamous 3-star Orlando Moore.

Other 3-stars: Justin Anderson, Mel Rice Jr & Phil Brown

What's really refreshing about this is that it seems like Coach Kill is NOT shutting out the local Chicagoland talent. I think the fear was that he was going to pull another Sadler, concentrating his recruiting efforts in the South and in Kansas while burning bridges among the Chicago-area high schools. So far, it looks like he's doing a decent job at splitting the recruiting efforts across the board.

After we beat USF, I hope we take advantage and recruit in Florida though.

I am shocked to hear myself say this, but Kill is doing an excellent job of bringing the top local talent and mixing it in with from talent around the country. One thing still missing though, we need Offensive Linemen in the worst way. Ultimately that will determine the success of this class.
