I am shocked to hear myself say this, but Kill is doing an excellent job of bringing the top local talent and mixing it in with from talent around the country. One thing still missing though, we need Offensive Linemen in the worst way. Ultimately that will determine the success of this class.
Three star guys are hard to land in the MAC! Great news for the Huskies!

What is the record number of 3 star recruits we have signed in a given year?
4 in 2003. But that class had 24 players including the infamous 3-star Orlando Moore.
Other 3-stars: Justin Anderson, Mel Rice Jr & Phil Brown
Thank-you. If Coach Kill already has 4 three star recruits he seems to be doing an excellent job.
Would love to see some OL, to compete against the likes of Ohio, and a new kicker.

we have two kickers on the roster behind salerno: If I'm not mistaken I think Ivanesevic will be a senior next year, and then Salerno Jr. right behind him

Thank-you. I thought Salerno was a Senior.
Would still love to see some 350 pound OL come to NIU.

After we beat USF, I hope we take advantage and recruit in Florida though.
Great post!
I think Sadler really left our program bare and layed a very poor foundation which lead to our 26 game losing streak.
Kudo's to Joe Novak for not doing the same.
Please remember that USF played 5 ranked teams. Not since 2003 have we played a comparable schedule.
They have one of the best coaches in college football and are 6.5 point favorites.
Possibly the hardest MAC opponent during the 2009 Bowl series.
A win against the Bulls will top our win against Purdue.
TRuthfully I am more concerned about next year then this game.

Toledo has about 7 3-star verbal commits from the ESPN,Scout, and Rival services and a 4 star transfer from Illinois. I honestly believe there
are too many 3 and 4 star ratings given out.You can look at the team rankings by the services and see the number of higher ranked prospects
verballed to the lower teams(bottom third). It's ridiculous.Thankgoodness the majority of staffs don't put much credence into the services. We all need to keep our fingers crossed until signing day. This is the time the BCS teams start raiding our commits.I think we're starting to see a few more recruits stick with the programs like the MAC than to pick splinters for 4 years on the bench in the Big Ten.Good luck Huskies! I think Coach Kill is doing a good job so far.Bring back a Bowl win. USF is tough but beatable.

I still feel that how many offers a player has is the best way to judge talent as an outside observer.

I tend to agree; I usually look at the number of offers and who the offers are from and put more weight on that than I do on the number of stars a kid has.
