So do we thank the Dem success for yesterday's market and blame it today?

My general point, green, is that the markets were up big Wednesday and detractors of the Dems gave no credit. Now that the markets are tanking today ... time to pounce with criticism. Seems inconsistent.

I don't care much for either the Dems or Republicans.

I called this yesterday. Yesterday, the markets were up merely because the uncertainty of who would prevail was known. Markets hate uncertainty. The market had a day to digest what it actually means given the Dems won, and you see the result today. A diversified portfolio and dollar cost averaging helps to negate lots of the risks from day-to-day market swings.

I just don't feel two days solely tells the overall story. Time is needed. But we'll see.

So you need to get hit a bunch of times.

So if on Wednesday you knee feels great and someone with a bat hits you in the knee today you want the bat to get credit for your knee feeling great on Wednesday?

Ok

I like it, SK, but I prefer this one:

So if on Wednesday your hemorrhoids are feeling fine and someone inserts a lancet into your rectum on Thursday ... you want the lancet to get credit for your hemorrhoids feeling great on Wednesday?

And don't expect your energy bills going down as much as they would have if the Republicans held Congress, either.
Dems will go after energy to lower your prices.
Quote:Democratic House members warned the oil industry in January that entering into an agreement with the U.S. on Venezuelan oil could expose the industry to “legal risk, including civil liability from creditors who hold nearly $200 billion worth of debt to Venezuela and their various state-owned entities.”

Democratic senators subsequently sent a letter in September to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Energy Secretary Chris Wright questioning the legal basis for the U.S. government’s deal with NABEP.

Energy analysts warned when the NABEP deal was announced in August that it might not survive if Democrats take power in Washington.

Quote:BREAKING: ?? Democrats face a push for a “day 1” ban on AI superintelligence, with up to 20 YEARS in prison for violators.

Arizona Rep. Yassamin Ansari says a pause on advanced AI and a ban on artificial superintelligence must be “top of the Democratic agenda on day 1.”

A bill that would do exactly that was introduced by Bernie Sanders and Greg Casar in September.

Under the bill:

- Developing or deploying superintelligent AI would be banned

- Advanced AI development would pause until a new federal regulator sets rules and a model review process

- A new cabinet-level AI department would monitor frontier models and oversee removing dangerous capabilities, like ignoring shutdown commands

- Companies that try to get around it would face the “corporate death penalty”

- Individuals would face up to 20 years in prison

AI and data centers were a “crucial or major factor” for 56% of voters in the midterms, per an NBC News exit poll.

Yeah Bernie....have your friends in Beijing offered to join the AI development ban? Would you believe them if they did?

Tech companies are seeing danger ahead since the Dems have singled out Data Centers. I realize many do not want data centers, but it is what this very site is being run by. If America doesn't build them, the enemies of America will and then we as America fall behind. But that is what the Dems want.

Broadcom has line of sight on $115B in 2027 XPU/TPU revenue and and 230B in 2028 XPU/TPU revenue. $550 a share by end of 2027.

They won’t stop data centers. They will do three things. 1. Make them use grey water, 2. Make them fund electrical upgrades so it doesn’t get pushed back on the rate payers, and 3. Make them only generate local power for grid outage (and brief tests).

Traditional data centers and Colo facilities ( like this site is probably hosted in) work well with all three of these criteria. AI data centers are the ones causing issues with water, power, and generations emissions. The reasons come down to their power density. They are consuming more power (and creating more heat) at an order of magnitude higher ratio per sq ft when compared to traditional data centers. They can’t get enough power for peaks, so they run their onsite generation to supplement and not just for outages. The consume tremendous amounts of water for evap cooling towers.

That's what Trump said they will do.
