I have a bazillion pics already. But I have no clue how to post them here from my phone. I think you have to post them to some third party site, then download them from there, but I have no clue which or how.
Tell me how, or I can text them to you, and you post them.
I'll try again ... my $$$ say you can take the reins from there...
Thanks, stink. I recall someone mentioned it once, but I couldn't recall whom or what website they named. Right now I just started a long drive from South Dakota to almost the Mexican border (Hatch NM). I'm not going to fool with it immediately (too tired and otherwise occupied).
But hopefully, I can remember this for about a week. Or write it down and remember where. Or not go to bed at 9 pm and wake up at 1, as I just did this morning. Or not go to a repair shop, like today, to get something fixed.
no problemo ... it's easier if you upload to your cpu, then begin from there ... doing it on the phone is a kick in the crotch...
fwiw, I've really enjoyed reading the 'travails' (term of endearment) of the yin and the yang during your travels ... it beats the hoo-hoo out of all the other threads that also remind me of a former bud that once told me (about getting married), "everybody's gotta do it once, stink!" (yeah, that debil on the shoulder) ...
@livingVicarously
It's WAY more good than bad, for me, overall.
I would much rather have the love of my life back, but if this is my lot, it's what I want to do, given the circumstances. Today was a mixed bag. Details later when I'm not so tired. Just got in. 8 pm here. Long day of travel.
About to finish my Southbound and Down run today from SD to NM. In Clayton NM now, 140 miles from Tucumcari NM, where I'm taking a 2 night break in a hotel with the trailer sitting still, lol. Will be the end of an 800 mile dash in 4 days.
After this, I will cruise down to Hatch NM to pick up some fresh roasted green chiles for my sister, then head to Tucson to restart the actual vacation part of my trip.
Thanks, stink. I met Jerry Reed once. Attended a concert of his in the late 60s in Jackson TN when I was in college. My roommate and I were slow leaving, and he came back out onstage, sat down and talked to just the 2 of us for maybe 30-45 minutes. Solid dude.

stay safe and be well, young man!!!
It is a cool story about meeting Jerry Reed. But "cuz" is fast cars and Sally Field and the truck stop babes littered throughout the movie! Sally was cute as the Flying Nun but grew up and has aged wonderfully. And she's so danged petite. I didn't get to meet her but saw her when she was filming Norma Rae in Opelika, Alabama. She frequented a restaurant that my wife and I liked. And while that was going on she was dating Burt Reynolds who did show up in the sporting goods store where I worked while finishing up schoolwork. He perused the firearms and talked guns with me and was a regular guy that didn't seem to know he was Burt Reynolds. Most refreshing.

Thanks, stink. Wish me luck tomorrow. I have about a 90 minute window early tomorrow to get out of town before the next big blow starts. Winds out here are no dang joke.

Well to misquote Jerry Reed's character in Smokey and the Bandit, "You've got a long way to go, but the rest of your life to get there, so there's no need to run, just let it unfold and enjoy it all!

Funny, I started to add something like that myself. I spent the day in the trailer, relaxing, catching up with some friends, etc. Lovely day.

that dadgum Santa Ana blowin' ain' no joke ... turfed a driving range a few miles down from the Cards stadium in Glendale (just outside of PHX) ~20 yrs. ago ... yeah, center of gravity lives matter when draggin' an enclosed trailer this time of the year in that region...

Yep. Southern boys don't know nuttin' 'bout no winds like this (unless we're talking hurricanes). If it repeats tomorrow, I'm sitting again, lol.
Latest forecast says high winds have passed, and I'm clear in the morning. Giving me enough time to reach Tucumcari before the weather worsens again in the p.m.
I'll be glad when I stop road running and start touristing again.

Update. Weather is still kicking my butt. After sitting an extra day in Clayton NM due to dangerously high winds (for travel trailers), yesterday I drove about 110 miles in the rain on a skinny 2-lane highway to Tucumcari NM. Now stuck again with a huge thunderstorm coming through here, but at least the hotel is decent (nowhere to safely park a trailer).
I had planned to dip down from here to Hatch NM to grab some green chiles, but the season finished early due to a severe drought, so from Tucumcari, it's through Albuquerque on I-40 to The Petrified Forest, then on to the Grand Canyon South.
Will be nice to finally be a tourist again. I have done nothing but drive since I left SD almost a week ago.
I was just about to tell you about the mean weather that was forecast for the entire NM and parts of Texas on Friday and Saturday. El Paso got some pretty bad weather and a lot of flooding. This parts of the country have gotten so much rain that it's help to put some water into Elephant Butte dam which is pretty dry. I'm glad you're okay.

Thanks, bro. Believe me, I keep up on weather forecasts. Dangerous not to, considering I'm hauling around a 6400 lb. fatass on my trailer hitch.
My truck weighs about 5500 or so, but believe me, if anything happens to us, it's not a fair fight. If that trailer flips, the truck and I are going with it.
On a side note, this **** is hard work, even without weather issues. I'm not complaining, in fact, I'm having a freaking blast. But I would NOT recommend this for the average 79-year-old. Lucky for me, I'm not average, lol.

Btw, I was planning to drop down to Hatch for some green chiles, then up through Tucson and Phoenix, and back to my route at Sedona. But I'm too late for Hatch, so I'm just east of Albuquerque now, headed to the Petrified Forest National Park and back to my planned tour schedule. Then Sedona, Grand Canyon South, Page AZ for slot canyons and Horseshoe Bend, then into Utah for the Mighty 5. Then to the Texas Hill Country on the way home. Back to Memphis by Nov. 24 at the latest.

What's wrong with the Rockies?
Is it just being near them with a 6400 lb trailer that is bad?

The Rockies are fine. They are beautiful and breathtaking. But I just finished driving down the front range from South Dakota to New Mexico, and the wind was up almost every day, in fact, so bad 2 different days, I just had to sit still.
Driving a trailer in or near the Rockies is NOT fun. That's all I meant.
P.S. You quoted the wrong post, lol. I complained about the Rockies in a more recent post, actually in a different thread.
