Yeah, nice thought but strangely all of the Hispanic men I work around have a name for him and I'm sure that name will not equate to votes. But, hey you believe in rainbows and fairy tales so I'm sure you got this one right.

Blacks will stay home. Did not like the way Crockett was treated. Talarico is begging when he is actually campaigning

Its not a vote for Bill. I vote against Democrats.

I am not a Republican but I clearly see the less of two evils.

My Dad used to have a saying to anyone who tried to persuade to vote Democrat or were proud to be Democrats.

He said he never met a Democrat Politician that didn't love to raise taxes. So, unless I love pay more taxes I'll just keep voting against them.

The reason I vote against them is because one I'm conservative and two they are hell bent on destroying the family unit at all costs which in turn breaks down society.

I understand the approach, B-Dragon. And many others (on both the left and right) take that view. I respect your right to vote "against" a candidate as much so (if not more so than) to vote "for" a candidate. I get it.

But I simply take a different approach.

Ken Paxton (in this case) is such a flawed politician (and person) ... there is no way I could vote for him.

As an extreme example, I could not vote for a convicted rapist simply because his political views align with mine.

Now to be fair, it is easy for me to be critical of the "vote for the lesser of two evils" approach, as my days of voting for either a Democrat or a Republican (and I've voted for candidates in either party in the past) are done.

I've had it with both parties, and would like to see both Talarico and Paxton lose. Neither is deserving.

I do vote third party when the R disgusts me to the point you suggest. I just simply will NEVER VOTE DEMOCRAT AGAIN because I know their final destination is destruction of the American way of life. Party insiders want to tear down and rebuild their utopia and that simply doesn't align with my thinking. Good news for Democrats is that Americans are like a herd of cattle and most don't think for themselves but rather follow the herd even if to their demise.

IF and its a BIG IF just poll North Texas East Texas and West Texas and Panhandle to see if their is any movement to Talarico and there will be your proof. Urban areas in Texas for polling are like fool's gold.

Sadly, I hear this a lot. Regardless of whether the allegations on Paxton or true or not, given the controversy around him, is Paxton the ideal Republican candidate? Nope. I suspect we likely agree on that.

So, here is where Im at. When I enter the voting booth----Im not looking for a business partner---Im not looking to give my daughter away to the winner of the election. The election winner wont be managing my business affairs.

What the election winner WILL DO is become one of 100 members casting votes in the US Senate. So, the only question I need to ask in this election is ---"Which candidate is going to vote in the Senate more often in the manner I would prefer----and which candidate almost uniformly is going to cast Senate votes in a manner I would absolutely NOT prefer". As a Republican---that method strains out the election campaign noise and makes this decision VERY easy and straightforward.

04-cheers

Yeah. No actual rational Republican will vote for Talarico.

And, of course, I believe most rightwingers take the same approach.

RE: Republicans for Talarico
Since James Talarico hasn’t been seen publicly for 13 days in the final stretch of the campaign, here’s a reminder of just some of the things he believes:
-Opposes Voter ID.
-Supports Amnesty for illegal aliens.
-Believes there are six genders.
-Posted guides on how to evade ICE.
-Called the border a “welcome mat”.
-Supports the abolition of prisons.
-Says God is “non-binary”.
-Used the Bible to say that Mary would support abortion.
-Claimed Jesus was a “radical feminist”.
-Says atheists are “more Christ-like” than Christians.
-Supports men in women's sports.
-Thinks illegal aliens are “more Patriotic” than Americans.
-When asked what he thinks about besides family, he said “trans kids”.
-Voted against a bill to enhance criminal penalties for those who have committed at least four crimes in a ten-year period.

From a classmate in HS
-Voted against a bill to mandate that the Attorney General must step in to prosecute human trafficking if local prosecutors fail to

Probably true---as young voters tend to skew liberal. The trouble is----the young dont typically show up in big numbers.

I hear ya, but from what I’ve seen, it should say some left-leaning folks, not most. They usually go with party over country. And yes, a lot of us vote for one party, too. But a lot of us are party because of country. And I’d personally still love to think it’s that case with a lot of your fellow left-leaning friends as well. As in we just disagree with how we should solve problems in this country, not seek to destroy it. (This may have come off as hostile so for that, I apologize. Be well, my Christian brother. 04-cheers God bless you.)

You would think. But look how flawed Paxton is too.

The difference is, Paxton's alleged flaws (even if we assume the allegations are all true) will not negatively affect me down the road. Talarico's agenda if passed---quite likely WILL negatively affect me for years to come. The way I see it, we are going to be stuck with one or the other for the next 6 years. I see little chance Talarico would cast a single vote I'd support. It just makes no sense for Texans to send a guy to represent them in the Senate that frankly intends to vote counter to the interests of the great majority of reasonable Texans.

To be honest, the current primary system is probably not serving Americans well. Only the most motivated party members tend to participate---and these voters tend to be more extreme than the party center. This is resulting in general elections where the candidates tend to represent the extreme elements of both parties---rather than the center of each party. This is further exacerbated by jerrymanering which creates more and more "safe" seats and fewer and fewer purple seats where a more middle of road candidate could be successful.

Just for fun I ran your list through google AI with the query of "Are the following items things that James Talarico believes in?"

Here's what the it said:

Several of these points are based on documented public statements made by Texas State Representative and U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico, though political opponents frequently reframe or exaggerate them for campaign attacks. Other points are direct mischaracterizations.
Here is the factual breakdown of what Talarico has actually stated, done, or voted on:

? Factually Documented (What he actually said or did)

• Opposes Voter ID: True. In a July 2021 Fox News interview and subsequent statements, Talarico explicitly stated, "I oppose voter ID," arguing that proving identity to vote is an unnecessary hurdle that disproportionately impacts hundreds of thousands of Texans without driver's licenses.
• Posted guides on how to evade ICE: True. In 2019, Talarico shared a "Know Your Rights" graphic on social media from the activist group United We Dream. The guide provided instructions for undocumented immigrants on how to interact with immigration authorities, such as not opening doors without a warrant and not signing documents without a lawyer. Talarico defended it as a form of constituent service.
• Says God is “non-binary”: True. During a 2021 Texas House floor debate on LGBTQ+ issues, Talarico stated that "God is nonbinary." In May 2026, he clarified the remark, calling it "deliberately provocative" theology and stating that human gender categories cannot fully define God.
• Claimed Jesus was a “radical feminist”: True. In a November 2022 speech on faith and abortion rights, Talarico explicitly argued that "Jesus was a radical feminist," citing how Jesus constantly subverted first-century gender norms by interacting with, healing, and learning from women.
• Says atheists are “more Christ-like” than Christians: True. During a 2026 appearance on the Politics War Room podcast, Talarico stated that he has met many "Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jews, Muslims, atheists, and agnostics who are more Christ-like than some of the 'Christians' I serve with on the Texas state legislature," criticizing Christian nationalists for failing to support public welfare policies.
• Thinks illegal aliens are “more Patriotic” than Americans: Mostly True Context. Talarico hasn't stated that all undocumented immigrants are more patriotic than all Americans. However, in personal recollections regarding his former career as a public school teacher, he stated that his undocumented students were some of his "hardest-working and most patriotic," because they fought the hardest to experience the American dream.

? Reframed or Misinterpreted (Political spin on his actual words)

• Believes there are six genders: False. During a 2021 committee debate, Talarico cited scientific data regarding intersex chromosome configurations (such as XX, XY, XXY) to argue that there are six biological sexes, not six genders. He has since updated his commentary to say he acknowledges two primary sexes while accounting for genetic variations.
• Called the border a “welcome mat”: Misleading. This is a partial quote taken from a broader analogy he uses to describe his immigration policy. He frequently says, "Our border should be like a front porch—it should have a welcome mat out front and a lock on the door." He uses this phrase to mean that legal pathways should be accessible, but border enforcement is still necessary.
• Used the Bible to say that Mary would support abortion: Exaggerated. Talarico does not claim Mary explicitly endorsed abortion. Instead, he argued in 2022 that the concept of the Annunciation (where God asks for Mary's consent to carry Jesus) demonstrates that God values bodily autonomy and consent, which he uses to form his pro-choice Christian viewpoint.
• Supports the abolition of prisons: False. He does not support abolishing adult prisons. However, he did author House Bill 4356, a piece of legislation aimed at closing Texas's state-run youth/juvenile correctional facilities by 2030 and replacing them with a decentralized community rehabilitation system.
• Supports men in women's sports: Reversed. While he historically opposed restrictions on transgender athletes in the Texas House, Talarico shifted his position in September 2026. He announced on Fox News that he opposes transgender athletes playing in girls' sports "if it risks safety or fairness."
• When asked what he thinks about besides family, he said “trans kids”: False. This claim originated as an unverified personal jab made by Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance during a October 2026 campaign stop. Talarico has not made this statement.

? Factually Incorrect or Lacks Context

• Supports Amnesty for illegal aliens: False. Talarico opposes large-scale or blanket "amnesty." His actual policy platform calls for an earned pathway to legalization or citizenship for long-term undocumented residents, Dreamers, and spouses, combined with stricter border enforcement.
• Voted against a bill to enhance criminal penalties for those who have committed at least four crimes in a ten-year period: No Public Record. There is no high-profile vote or piece of text mapping to this specific four-crime threshold description. While Talarico historically voted against a conservative cashless-bail restriction bill in 2021 (HB 20), he later crossed the aisle to support a sweeping 2025 bail reform package championed by Republican Governor Greg Abbott to deny bail to violent felons.

My unsolicited thoughts: I will say that I think we all know SOME non-believers that are better people than some "Christians". I don't see why voter ID is a hurdle. Who doesn't have a drivers license? I see where he's coming from with Jesus being a feminist relative to his era, with Mary Magdalene and such. The God is non-binary quote is my biggest issue with him.

Why?

God isn't man or woman...

I think that sums it up pretty well.
