Interesting video that sheds some light on how the US is getting ships through the Strait. FWIW---Ive found Sal Mercogliano and his "What is Going On With Shipping" YouTube channel to be an excellent source of insights on issues related to international shipping and logistics.

Presidents do not control the price of gas and oil, unless of course the President's name is Donald Trump.
When a Democrat president is in charge, and the price of gas and oil is out of control, we, the peasants are supposed to shut up and buy electric vehicles, even if we can't afford one.
^ Not wrong, at all. But you can't argue with tommie, he's an expert on... well, you know, everything.

There is 0 doubt the war spiked oil cost, but oil production is back up and diesel prices are through the roof. that is refining not quantity of crude oil.
Russia is way down and we have in California shut down refineries in the last year.

Nah!!!!!
To pretend it's not a factor is kind of stupid. I don't trust much of the "official" information out there from any source.
I get that, but this is information from the EIA (US Energy Information Administration) which is , an independent statistical and analytical agency within the U.S. Department of Energy.
I don't get my world economic news from "Movie Stars". https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/As...Price.html
"Average daily gasoline and diesel sales held between roughly 118,000 and 150,000 tonnes from January through March, according to Meduza, which analyzed 65,700 transactions. Sales fell to 104,000 tonnes per day in April, 106,000 tonnes in May and 80,300 tonnes in June. June volumes were 38% below the same month in 2025. Weighted average prices were 37% higher. "
This explains Liam's little graph. And then Russia stopped exporting diesel in August, which is when the big jump happened.
It will be interesting to see how much oil China had to draw on from its strategic reserves. Officially it is 1.4 billion barrels, larger than the 32 members of the International Energy Agency combined. Other analysts that watch Chinas oil purchases over time think it’s much, much larger though.
If they wait until prices go down some, and then start buying to replenish it, they could elevate demand for an extended amount of time.
We may not see full relief for a while. And by then, the chances that the US has started a new war that will spike oil again is statistically extremely high.

A few things.
1. That twitter account is NOT the actor Liam Neeson.
2. The graph is of diesel PRICES, not sales.
3. The information is from an arm of trump's Department of Energy. The twitter account is only relaying that information.
4. The Russian export ban began on July 8th, not in August. They extended the ban in August.
5. Yes it played a role, but prices were already elevated solely due to the war before July 8th, and continue to be the biggest driver of the elevated cost.

Yeah, and I have a good hunch that after the election, trump is likely to go full boots in Iran, and probably start something in Cuba too. Especially if he loses both houses. If he goes full dictator, Katie, bar the door!

No clue why you would think I never knew or admitted that. Of course, all global conflicts...especially involving oil producing countries...will effect the global supply and demand and therefore prices. I've never said or intimated otherwise.
That being said, to pretend that the Iran war is not the biggest driver is pure folly. Ukraine has been attacking Russian oil infrastructure since April of 2022.

Iran absolutely is the biggest driver. Which is why I've been so against this mess just like I'm against helping Ukraine. Like I said, I call it down the middle as much as I can. Israel could've wiped Iran off the map many times over the past 2-3 decades.

its like Biden killing off the chickens on his way out of the whitehouse, then the libturds blaming Trump for high egg prices.
