She lives just outside Memphis in Collierville, where her son and 2 grandkids are. But she also has a daughter in DC, so she is considering moving there. My guess is she stays near Collierville, rather than moving to the DC area.
The reason I asked you said 900 miles drive for her to make yall's meet up. From your talks I know she has other family but once she gets her home build figured out its probably going to be winter time by the time the site/foundation. Which means slow work. Seems to me (based on what you said on the board) brother and sis, would have a great time spending the winter somewhere warm, close to a ocean! Both being FREE for a couple months probably doesnt happen often. Just me butting in adding my 2 cents LOL
She's not going to start building until the spring, wherever that is. But after the next 2-3 weeks, I'm heading west, and she's not willing to go any further in that direction.
Also, it's 900 miles b/c she drove from Memphis to DC to visit her daughter and check out places there.
P.S. We both dislike the beach. We prefer the mountains.

RE: OT - My upcoming RV Adventures Travel Log
Tomorrow I am finally headed out from Sioux Falls, going backwards 600 miles to Springfield IL (home of Lincoln) to meet Nancy, who is coming from 900 miles east of there.
Springfield is the home of our favorite restaurant, Obed & Isaac's, home of world famous beer cheese soup, lol.
Nothing like 1200 miles at 10 mpg for a bowl of soup. Well, we're staying for 2 weeks, so there's that. I bet we have that soup once every day.

There is a country song to be written, with the lyrics anchored by that line.

I face planted with that blonde I liked,
Now I'm going 1200 miles for a bowl of soup.
Wandering around in the dark all lost,
My head and heart have taken a wupping,
I'm going 1200 miles for some soup.
--My daughter decided to run through a gate at night and face planted, breaking her nose. We decided there was a country song there. So using the soup and face planting themes, I think we've got a winner!!!

Triple A, did you have to pay South Dakota vehicle sales tax to register your trailer? Did the Mississippi dealer do it as an out of state purchase with no sales tax since you weren’t going to title in MS?

Correct on all counts. Everything done through South Dakota. Permanent address, driver's license, voter registration, car tag, trailer tag, etc.

RE: OT - My upcoming RV Adventures Travel Log
Time out from my general plan. I'm heading out today to backtrack a good bit to meet my sister near Springfield IL, on a beautiful state park lake, which is a big fishing spot.
She is currently like me, homeless. Difference is, I have a plan, and right now, she doesn't. She has been up in the DC area looking at lots and houses, b/c her daughter lives in the area, but she didn't find anything to her liking. Will likely end up building again near Collierville. She is heading toward Springfield today or tomorrow.
We plan to sit still for a couple of weeks and rest, as both of us have been through house sales and all that entails, then immediate extensive travel, and we are both exhausted. I'm 79 and she is 76.
Next two weeks will be sleeping, camping out, grilling, sampling the local cuisine (including beer cheese soup!), doing a bit of touristy things (home of Lincoln), and basically taking it easy.
After that, we are going south just a bit to visit a friend I made who owns a Harvest Host (harvesthosts.com) location, Pour Vineyards in Red Bud IL (close to St. Louis). Then I'm heading west, and Nancy may follow me for a while, since house building won't likely start until spring. TBD.

RE: OT - My upcoming RV Adventures Travel Log
Day 6. I'm back! Couldn't post until I got access to this board on my phone, which I never used. That took web access on another device, which I just got tonight. Updates should be easier now.
Spent several days with my sister at a state park near Springfield IL. Very nice and serene.
Finally got to try some more beer cheese soup. Good, but not great like the first time. Maybe the legend overshadowed reality.
My sis is still with me. We drove from Springfield IL to Branson MO, and stopped in to visit my new friends Bob and Judy Pour, who own a lovely vineyard in Red Bud IL, The Pour Vineyard.
Now in Branson where we will stay a few days. Going to Camping World tomorrow to see if I can trade in my trailer for a truck camper which would fit in the back of my truck bed.
Much smaller and way less luxurious, but way easier to drive. That trailer is just too big a pain in the ass to hitch and unhitch, haul around everywhere, set up and break down, etc. Truck camper would be much simpler. And cheaper.
I'll let you know how it goes.

If you need internet on your laptop you can always connect through the hot spot on your phone. I wouldnt try to post on the internet with a phone, my eyes sight, that was very good 2 years ago. Would not allow it.
Glad you and little sis are having a great time. Stay safe. It seems like you are most likely upset with the trailer and regretting it. Dont let shite like that matter! At the end of the day this 1 day to ....... ever how long it last, road trip is about you making the best day possible. Those are little things (of course money matters) that work out. We cant get those limited days back

I guess the hitching and unhitching would get old doing it yourself
