Hastings is small city in rural Michigan with a population of around 7,500 people. Almost 99% of them are US citizens as of 2024, where none of the households reported speaking a non-English language at home as their primary shared language.

In the 2024 election, trump got over 66% of the vote.

"non-citizens are being placed on the voter rolls at the Secretary of State level"

Yeah...and...your alleged proof of this is a rightwing rag talking about a couple right wing nut jobs in the place I'm talking about.

And asking for additional assistance in verifying citizenship is not the same as claiming noncitizens are being added to the Qualified Voter File (QVF) without local knowledge.

And I found the following nugget on a website when looking into this further. Wise words you should probably heed after your Germany server USA deaths debacle. 07-coffee3

Here's another little nugget for you to chew on. 07-coffee3

Democrat canvassers vote to keep Citizens Only Voting initiative off November ballot
Americans for Citizen Voting Chairman Paul Jacob:

'You can't cheat the people of Michigan and get away with it'

Lansing—Democratic members of the Michigan Board of State Canvassers voted Monday against certifying the Americans for Citizen Voting initiative, leaving the proposed constitutional amendment to require proof of citizenship off the November ballot after a contentious debate.

The four-member board deadlocked 2-2, with Republican members Chair Richard Houskamp and Paul Cordes voting to certify the petition and Democratic members Vice Chair Mary Ellen Gurewitz and Heather Cummings voting against certification. Since the Board has four members in order to have a petition certified there must be at least three members who vote for it.

The initiative needed 629 valid signatures in the state’s random sample to receive a recommendation for certification. Bureau of Elections staff determined that 626 of the 1,000 signatures reviewed in the sample were valid, putting the petition below the required threshold.

Americans for Citizen Voting challenged the findings and submitted sworn affidavits from petition signers whose signatures had been rejected by election officials. Organizers argued the affidavits demonstrated that several signatures the state had deemed invalid were actually signed by registered voters.

The organization presented testimony from a notary who had notarized affidavits submitted by petition signers. The board reviewed 20 affidavits during the proceedings, with five becoming central to the final decision.

No, because that's a logical fallacy on your part. I care greatly about getting any noncitizens off the voter rolls. But I also understand that it's not the problem your side is telling you it is, so that you don't trust the outcome of elections your side loses.

I'm just asking for actual proof and evidence...not a right with rag reporting on an anonymous tip made to a right-wing not job local sheriff.

And yeah...that measure won't be on the ballot. But it was a dumb measure anyway that would not have passed even if it made the ballot. It would lead to a ridiculous burden being placed on countless voters for a problem...again...that just doesn't exist to be honest.

A review in Michigan in 2024 of 7.2 million active voter registrations found just 15 credible apparent noncitizen voters.

False dilemma/False dichotomy and/or Straw man. Either works.

The first is assuming there are only two possibilities. Either you fully support a topic or your do not care about it at all. A person can care about a topic and still criticize its flaws.

The later is misrepresenting my position and attempting to make it easier to dismiss.

Schiff, I've been saying this for years now. I have maintained that he is being paid to post here, he is a paid propagandist because the things that he defends sometimes border on the insane and because the orders have to come from someone above him, you know like the Left Stream Media does it. He has never negated my claims.

Can you demonstrate for the class which part of his statement is a logical fallacy? Additionally, if you could please expand on exactly what kind of logical fallacy he's guilty of, I would appreciate it. I'll hang up and listen now.

I must have submitted this after tommie had left work. Am I the only one who finds it odd that tommie only posts from work on his employer's dime?
It might just be when the library closes.

Schiff, I've been saying this for years now. I have maintained that he is being paid to post here, he is a paid propagandist because the things that he defends sometimes border on the insane and because the orders have to come from someone above him, you know like the Left Stream Media does it. He has never negated my claims.

I hope you're kidding, because it is absolutely insane to believe anyone would pay someone to post on this obscure-ass board.

07-coffee3

Wouldn't it just be easier for you to say "I don't care"

Rest of the story,

I post during work hours but I am a salaried employee who is given lots of flexibility. As long as I am working the requisite number of hours and getting quality work done ... I'm good with my employer. Tom might have a similar situation, TB4E.

It's the E X A C T same scenario for me.

Additionally, these yokels have no clue what my daily work day entails. Parts of my job involve significant periods of down time while other computer operations, etc. are running. Some of them can take upwards of an hour or more.

But I'm sure they were all model employees who never took a second of personal time away from their job while on the clock. 03-lmfao
