I saw another article somewhere (don't have the link) that says ABC is doing this b/c they face some legal jeopardy from Kimmel saying something on their air which is untrue, and for which they can be sued.

They are network tv. They could lose their license.

The assassin, Tyler Robinson, lived with his transgender lover and said that if he had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, he would.

“I’ve had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” Robinson told his transgender lover about Kirk.

FCC Chairman Brendon Carr on Wednesday threatened to take immediate action against ABC and Disney after late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel lied to his audience and said Charlie Kirk was killed by a MAGA conservative.

We're stuck with Fallon until 2028.

to be clear, I don't think Disney/ABC has healed, but they are having to deal with an administration that enforces laws and regulations.

I'm ok with the end result regardless of their particular motive.


And let that be a lesson to everyone... saying that stern punishment doesn't deter crime (death penalty, long prison sentences).. bull-hockey. If the community knows you're not playing, they'll straighten up -- if for no other reason than out of fear.
