Prayers for all of my customers and people down in the area
Couple of observations from watching coverage of it today
1) I wish ron desantis would have waited his turn. He is a great gov, and I think he would make a great President. The interviews I have seen of him today he just has a great composure to him.
2) The interview with the mayor of Tallahassee was just interupted by a guy jumping in the camera yelling Trump 2024 fight fight fight
3) I think this storm might end up being the worst the south has seen in a long time. The speed of the storm means the coast won't get hit as bad, but EF1 tornado winds across wide areas all the way into Geogia is going to break a lot of stuff
The outer bands of that storm hit my area in east central Alabama tonight, across the river from Columbus GA. Not good. The faster it moves, the better off we all are.
We're supposed to get 10-15 inches in Atlanta and up to 70 mph winds. South Georgia will get hit with a category 1. Going to destroy the crops down there.
Atlanta is prepared to lose a lot of trees and have to deal with power outages. My sister down near Ft. Meyers says it hasn't been too bad there.
Apalachicola oysters were supposed to hit the market again next year. This will ruin that. Love me some big fat oysters. Apalach oysters are the best by far.

weather channel was talking about that. The pecan trees are almost ready for harvest so they are going to be very top heavy and are likely to get decimated.
Don't wish them storms on anyone... Y'all hunker down and use common sense in deep water, downed power lines, and for the love of all that's Holy, don't harass the poor linemen that come to your area to restore power, at the least try to give them some of your water cause it's hot and they appreciate the gesture. When Katrina hit, we were out of power for a couple of weeks and when the guys came in we had just cases of bottled water cause that's what we did at the beginning of the season to prep... We would take them a case during the hot parts of the day.. They were more than appreciative.. Doesn't mean it'll grease the wheels but it shows not everyone is a jerk.

after Kat, I take nothing for granted ... that girl turned on dime ... I'm 60 miles inland...
IIRC, that surge was some 30' high/1 mile or so ... the power of h2O is simply amazing ... it's hardly an enigma our lineage looked to the skies in the 'beholden' ... it actually plays into the A=word ... #sigh #can'tGetPast=1

Good luck to him.
When Hurricane Hugo, one of the biggest, most dangerous storms in US history, hit Charleston in 1989, I lived in a condo on stilts at Seabrook Island...a Par 3 from the ocean.
Police woke me up at 5 am the day it hit and forced me to evacuate. I then spent until midnight driving to Atlanta in the biggest traffic jam of my life. But I lived to tell the story...
I was forced to leave my beautiful set of pro clubs in a locker on the ground floor of the clubhouse which sat...ON the beach.
Somehow, my clubs lived to tell the story, as well. That was a freaking miracle, lol.

My parents used to live in Gulf Shores, they stayed for that cat3 that came through a couple years ago and it scared the hell out of my pops and we have had multiple tornados come through our property growing up. He said son it just never stopped, the wind kept going for hours. I got them back up in the TN hills now. The crazies can have the coast, plenty of fishing up here.
This storm is about to f*ck up a wide swath through Georgia
