I think I said it in this thread.. There's 3 types of Voters right now..
Those for Harris no matter what.
Those for Trump no matter what.
Indys who could vote either way or for a 3rd party candidate. That's who that debate was for.
And my point is if the one Indy voter on Fox is representative, and the tracking polls are representative, the Independents seem to be tracking with Trump, not Harris.

Agree. I was modifying your last sentence in your reply. The Indies I've seen so far today seem to be leaning toward Trump after the debate.

RE: ***official 'debate' thread*** ... Kumswallah vs. the Orange Basterd (#groverII)
She isn’t swaying independents with her hollow non-answers. The media and the Dem voters who are all low IQ fools are giddy, but she offered zilch as far as the economy goes, she refuses to do anything about the border, and she wouldn’t accept responsibility for getting soldiers killed in Afghanistan.
Trump missed a few chances to really hammer her -
1. After her “I’m the only person on stage who has” comment, he should have started his next answer with “I’m the only person on this stage who has been and has what it take to be POTUS”
2. He said because of the disaster that is Bidenomics, prices are 40,50,60% higher. She muttered “that’s not true”. He should’ve looked at her and said “you said so at a rally. We use it in a commercial”
Those are a couple that I can think of. He did fine. The country knows he’s going to be better at fixing Biden/ Harris economy and border.

The Ds are giddy b/c she didn't implode like Biden, b/c there is no time to switch her out now.
They also might think this pulled in undecideds, but the evidence so far today says no. In fact, she seemed to lose ground.
I don't agree that Trump "did fine," but it looks like it didn't matter. I just wish he wasn't so damn Trumpy. He never learns, lol.

There are 55 days to repair the damage. That will need to be a collective undertaking by those (not Donald Trump) who are capable of articulating how important it is to vote red this November. That means Byron Donalds, Ron DeSantis, Tom Cotton, John Kennedy and countless others who, unlike Donald Trump, can speak in terms that go beyond shere’s silly mantra of filth v. non-filth.
the problem becomes any of the above getting positive coverage...
gotta understand the real battle, first....
I’ll freely admit to being one who doesn’t understand the “real battle”. My guess is that it’s either Democrat cheating or perhaps it’s the assembled powers of Big Media, Big Tech and the Deep State.
But, regardless, there is no chance of defeating either of those evils between now and November 4. We can only hope that Team Trump figures out a way around them.
Donald showed last night that he is not up to that task. That’s not a new revelation, and should not have come as a surprise. That we (I) are disappointed this morning is only because Donald had been so on-point for virtually all of this year. I had foolishly started to convince myself that this was actually a new-and-improved Donald. Last night he reverted to form, and lazily mailed in a substandard performance.
Not fatal. But certainly not helpful.
What needs to happen now is that Team Trump needs to play to its strengths. That is definitively NOT its candidate. It is its surrogates. Donald hopefully will realize that, have the discipline to zip it for the next 7-plus weeks, and let the competent speakers around him take the lead.
That’s my assessment. (But what do I know?)
Good assessment. I remember back in my college Polysci debate days having a mod bleeding heart liberal professor taking it to me so instead of answering his next question I simply stated I didn’t know I was debating the Mod and my opponents simultaneously.
He completely shut down his bs as other department heads were watching. Trump didn’t have that luxury but the it would have scored points with Americans.
Bottom line Trump got rattled because he looked like me in my first debate.
Trump has NOT STUDIED HIS OPPONENT. You win debates when you know what they are going to answer before the question is even asked.
Best advice an upper classman ever gave me.
Had he made the debate a commentary of her voting record he would have effectively shut down the Mods. He never had to answer them but he chose to over and over. And, once you get into defense mode it’s hard to score points.
why did he not ... how would it have hurt him ... completely disagree with an admission to said tactic ... it's ironic the entire world didn't get to witness what you did in result...
he kowtowed to those fkbags knowing they had a response to any version he would submit ... that's a monster misstep when you know the den of inequity 'lies in wait'...
if you don't think they had full access to his voting record as a volley, you didn't see it the way I saw it....

I watched the debate and believe Trump lost it more than Harris won. He just kept taking the bait. As disappointing as that was, I was surprised to see a reporter gauging a very diverse panel of undecided voters after the debate and barely any of them seemed impressed with Harris. Some even said Trump won.
maybe it's fair to state that some here believe the 'genie will finally come out of that bottle' ... I'm no different when recognizing his personal fault lines ... regardless of the sample size, that's good news and should be expected from any rational/logically thinking individual...

This is why I didn't even watch.
I knew ABC would make it 3 on 1. They're not even hiding it anymore.

Vance, who's quicker on the retort would have torn her a new S. She wouldn't have stood a chance against her and Vance would have quieted the Mods as well. Trump is not a good debater, it's that simple. But, (like all Leftists when they say something nice they always throw in a BUT) he did have to defend himself against 3 people, which was expected. I don't know why he never told them to go pound sand on having it on ABC. If ABC was intent on fairness they should included someone like Jesse or Laura to be mods but they aren't stupid, they're just evil like the party they support.
