Why would anyone think Kamala is going to do ANYTHING positive with the Economy or the Open Border? It was only discussed for about 5 minutes. They spent all of the time on ABORTION in which she lied about Trump's stance and the Past. Worst run Presidential Debate in history, and it wasn't close. They asked Trump about Kamala's race. Really?

Harris had style point, Trump had substance. The poll is showing that. Her collapse will continue.

There are 55 days to repair the damage. That will need to be a collective undertaking by those (not Donald Trump) who are capable of articulating how important it is to vote red this November. That means Byron Donalds, Ron DeSantis, Tom Cotton, John Kennedy and countless others who, unlike Donald Trump, can speak in terms that go beyond shere’s silly mantra of filth v. non-filth.

the problem becomes any of the above getting positive coverage...

gotta understand the real battle, first....

I’ll freely admit to being one who doesn’t understand the “real battle”. My guess is that it’s either Democrat cheating or perhaps it’s the assembled powers of Big Media, Big Tech and the Deep State.

But, regardless, there is no chance of defeating either of those evils between now and November 4. We can only hope that Team Trump figures out a way around them.

Donald showed last night that he is not up to that task. That’s not a new revelation, and should not have come as a surprise. That we (I) are disappointed this morning is only because Donald had been so on-point for virtually all of this year. I had foolishly started to convince myself that this was actually a new-and-improved Donald. Last night he reverted to form, and lazily mailed in a substandard performance.

Not fatal. But certainly not helpful.

What needs to happen now is that Team Trump needs to play to its strengths. That is definitively NOT its candidate. It is its surrogates. Donald hopefully will realize that, have the discipline to zip it for the next 7-plus weeks, and let the competent speakers around him take the lead.

That’s my assessment. (But what do I know?)

"Team Trump" can only do so much. He has his faults like all of us. Most normal people understand that. He's NEVER going to be what a lot of us would like him to be. That said, he's got a different vision for the country than the left, a vision in which everyone can succeed on their own merits if gov't would gtfo of the way. A vision where the gov't does the handful of things it's actually supposed to do for us. We just have to hope and pray that there are enough people in the country who truly understand what they're voting for if they vote for Kamala. I honest to God don't know how anybody can vote for Democrats based on their policies at this point. It's like a lot of people just don't care how badly the country goes to ****.

Do style points pick up the undecideds? I don't think they really do. The undecideds are hurting just like a lot of the other voters. Something's got to give.

She's looking for a knockout blow IMHO. If anyone needs another debate more - it's Trump because he came in unprepared AND he was in a handicap match. It was a tall order for him to get an actual win given what he had to fight against.

If she was smart she take the victory lap and not give any more interviews/debates/press conferences until after the election.

I agree. She would be wise NOT to debate again.

But, here is the dilemma with that.

She did or said nothing other than I have a plan to fix the economy. Really? Where has this plan been in the cellar collecting dust.

She also didn’t address the world is on fire under her administration and what steps are needed to put out the fire. Her response world leaders don’t respect Trump. Like most Americans give a hoot.

While most might not they also think Trump is unpredictable and for a lot of Despots in power positions around the world that’s a good thing.

I think most Americans saw inexperience on display with her credentials last. If Trump wasn’t so self absorbed he would have saw it too.

She needs another debate on those topics or her support will continue to erode over time if folks as I do perceive her as weak in these areas.

But last night... Trump did a few things that frustrated me..

1. Any subject he used to circle back to illegal immigration. Make the point and move one.. Maybe circle back once.
2. I think he missed a huge opportunity when Kamala said, I'm not Joe Biden.
3. The entire abortion segment was set up to make Kamala look good and I feel like he did a good job until he went off script on aborting babies after they're born. State your stance, stand firm in it, and don't get pulled in.
4. The entire time he seemed angry. Reminded me of the debate between Trump and Biden in 2020.

Here's the things I saw about Kamala that were positive

1. She did look poised and professional.
2. Most of the time she spoke clearly and concise, don't get it twisted there were times where she went off script and wandered off into no man's land.
3. She didn't talk sternly and seemed to be calm. But some of the responses lacked substance.

She was the more poised of the two

She was never professional smirking talking out of turn and gestures of lying.

I think you’re mistaking condescending with professionalism. If she acting like that in any board meeting it wouldn’t be to her liking afterwards

But does she really want to address any of that or does she want to share her vision with some tangilbe framework of a plan? I think it's NO for both and she's 1) hoping people think of her as an outsider not an incumbent of the Biden-Harris Admin and 2) she knows more Green New Deal, Forever Wars and unfettered illegal immigration is highly unpopular.

Trumps strongest points of the night were on the economy.

Her weakest points of the night were on the economy.

All she said was that she had a plan and deflected the one hard questions thrown to her on whether or not Americans were better off than four years ago

This board surprisingly seems more down on Trump than I'm seeing in the conservative media. And the left as well. Maybe you were expecting more. Kamala did a little better, but neither seemed to have benefitted is what I read between the lines of the various reports.

I watched the debate and believe Trump lost it more than Harris won. He just kept taking the bait. As disappointing as that was, I was surprised to see a reporter gauging a very diverse panel of undecided voters after the debate and barely any of them seemed impressed with Harris. Some even said Trump won.

I'm down on him because it's the same issues he always has. He's focused at the start - gets momentum going - ego gets too big - takes opponent lightly - he looks like he's on the losing end of a mud wrestling match.

The dude never learns and it's a shame because anyone with a brain knows how to get him riled up. Talk about his crowd sizes at his rallies or say anything to state he did a poor job at something and he's ready to go into defensive mode. That plus overestimating his ability to speak off the cuff gets him in trouble at debates.

Well he did well with Biden in June. I think I posted it the other day-the election is his to keep or lose. He needs to make sure he doesn't lose it.

He should have been prepared for questioning his rallies. Fake photos that the Kamala campaign has been proven to release, Kamala NOT having rallies, not having press conferences. Only doing taped interviews with pre-approved questions. Trump goes into hostile territory because he wants to speak to all Americans, not just those who agree with him. It was just a layup to have that blow up in her face. Same with Charlottesville. The Democrats are afraid to talk about their policies so they make up lies about Trump-even the NYT (or Wapo or NBC-whoever has) has admitted that story is a lie, but the Democrats don't want to tell you what THEY stand for. They make up lies about what Trump stands for. They are so shallow. Its SOOOO easy.

I'm watching on Fox a panel of 6 debate observers: 3 Rs, 2 Ds and 1 Indy voter.

Two things stand out:

1. This debate changed nothing. The 3 Rs lightly criticized Trump or said they got nothing out of the debate, but all 3 still solidly support him. The 2 Ds were giddy, saying Kamala clearly won. The one Indy seemed to brush past the fluff and criticize Harris for giving no answers on the things important to him, like the economy.

2. During the debate, Fox had a panel of mixed voters watching, and recorded their reactions as each candidate spoke. The two issues they showed so far were on fracking and on flip-flopping. Predictably, the Rs went one way and the Ds the other. BUT...in both cases, the Independent voters tracked almost exactly with the Rs.

I think I said it in this thread.. There's 3 types of Voters right now..

Those for Harris no matter what.
Those for Trump no matter what.
Indys who could vote either way or for a 3rd party candidate. That's who that debate was for.

More. Independents also tracking with Rs on immigration.

On Trump's closing comments about Harris having 3 1/2 years and did nothing, again, the Indies tracked exactly with the Rs.
