Huh? She was speaking to a pretty pro-Trump crowd tonight, and was the first to criticize him by name, acknowledged climate change, and basically proposed reaching a middle ground on abortion. How was she a chameleon?

So she's a RINO.

Hurling labels and insults. Sad that that’s what political discussion has become.

I often ***** about how far the Democratic Party has fallen, but I often forget how far the Republican Party has also fallen.

RE: anyone watching the 'debate'?
My take:

1. No one will lose to Biden. He won’t be the nominee come election time.

2. No one will beat Trump out of this bunch, but one might come close.

3. Vivek, rhymes with cake, is my number one tonight. A republican Obama?

2. Tim Scott number two. Just needs a little more passion to get over the hump.

3. DeSantis needs to drop the talking points and be more appealing. But he is my number three.

4. Nikki Haley, would be my number four, but I don’t think she will be in the race much longer.

5. Burghum (sic) is a solid candidate, but I don’t know if he can get much traction.

6. Pence needs to pack his bags and head on back to Illinois.

7. Hutchison needs to pack his bags and go on back to Arkansas.

8. Chris Krispy Kreme needs to take his fat ass on over to MSNBC.

Vivek seem to handle the attacks very well. He made a mark on Krispy Kreme that was bound to hurt. He was probably the most attacked debater tonight. He did the best at putting his platform out in the public tonight. Probably opened the most eyes. That should tell everyone that he is a real candidate.
Seems Chris Krispy Kreme is the darling of the media types. He got a lot of propping up. He would be the one I would have to hold my nose and throw up in my mouth to vote for. Asa Hutchinson would be next on that list.

5. Burghum (sic) is a solid candidate, but I don’t know if he can get much traction. Who

7. Hutchison needs to pack his bags and go on back to Arkansas. Cuck

RE: anyone watching the 'debate'?
I hate these first primary debates because there are too many on the stage and moderators can never control them but here's my assessment

1. DeSantis - as the current front runner on the stage he did what he was supposed to do...don't mess up, just finish unscathed. He avoided being bated into a cat fight. Probably didn't hurt myself but this format didn't allow him to show his strengths.
2. Ramaswamy - I was really warming to him lately but last night I was really turned off by his immaturity and two hours of screaming over anyone else trying to talk. Some probably like that but I wonder if it turned off lots of average citizens. I think he hurt himself last night. He had an opportunity to really gain momentum but I don't think it happened. He would however serve the role of a VP attack dog well.
3. Haley was very strong, whether you agree with her positions or not, she handled herself well. Not sure it moves the needle for her tho.
4. Scott is just a nice guy and handled himself well but this format isn't for the nice guys, sadly.
5. Pence was surprisingly stronger than I thought he'd be, however, as with Ramaswamy, Pence's constant effort to interrupt and be visible probably soured on some folks.
6. Christie was pure Christie. His only purpose being there was to be the anti-Trump
7. The others are just there taking up floor space.

RE: anyone watching the 'debate'?
Very fair assessment. My personal spin below:

(08-23-2023 11:01 PM)Was SoMs Eagle Wrote:  My take:

1. No one will lose to Biden. He won’t be the nominee come election time. 100% agree.

2. No one will beat Trump out of this bunch, but one might come close. Disagree. Trump the coward is adopting the Biden “basement” approach too early in the process. My bet is that this will become apparent in the coming weeks, and Team Orange will be forced into the difficult decision of either allowing continuing erosion in non-Trumplet support by ducking the next debate or showing up for that debate and revealing how truly unqualified he is for leading the ticket in 2024. The only benefit to Trump from last night’s debate is that there is a chance that attack-dog Christie won’t be around for the next debate.

3. Vivek, rhymes with cake, is my number one tonight. A republican Obama? He took a lot of heat from the other debaters, and for the most part handled it well. I loved his off-the-cuff quip directed a Christie - - “Are you going to give me a hug?” - - when compared to Obama.

2. Tim Scott number two. Just needs a little more passion to get over the hump. He’ll survive to the next round. But you are right that he needs to up his game.

3. DeSantis needs to drop the talking points and be more appealing. But he is my number three. He improved as the debate progressed. He seems like an uncomfortable guy. Until challenged, and then you see the fighter come out.

4. Nikki Haley, would be my number four, but I don’t think she will be in the race much longer. I think she outperformed expectations more than any other last night. Is it enough? Perhaps not.

5. Burghum (sic) is a solid candidate, but I don’t know if he can get much traction. Agree.

6. Pence needs to pack his bags and head on back to Illinois. Agree.

7. Hutchison needs to pack his bags and go on back to Arkansas. Agree.

8. Chris Krispy Kreme needs to take his fat ass on over to MSNBC. Unsure on this one. Probably my least favorite on the stage last night. But also the boldest of the contestants. No ducking issues at all - - the antithesis of Trump.

Vivek seem to handle the attacks very well. He made a mark on Krispy Kreme that was bound to hurt. He was probably the most attacked debater tonight. He did the best at putting his platform out in the public tonight. Probably opened the most eyes. That should tell everyone that he is a real candidate.

I highly doubt anyone will win against the dementia riddled vegetable. 2020 events [outside of George Floyd] was planned and took years in the making and 2024 will be about the same. Agenda 2030 is too important to the global elites

Likely the hard truth

RE: anyone watching the 'debate'?
It's early and having 8 people on stage was too much to get into real details because anyone who has a shot jockeyed for position to try to maximize air time while those who have no shot didn't bother to try too hard to get their face on camera.

Trump was likely the biggest winner because more than one of them said "I'm like Trump but different" approach. Sad part is his core of support is simply too great to overcome and that's a rotten shame. Remember, Trump put Fauci and Birks in charge, Trump chose to ignore the other experts who disagreed with Fauci, Trump worked with Big Pharma to come up with the vaccine schemes AND the immunity from being sued over their rapid development. Trump began all of the COVID payment schemes. I don't understand why so many people WILLFULLY IGNORE Trump's role in how the COVID response decimated our country.

Trump was wise to skip that sh!t show. If there are more than 3-4 people on the stage it just becomes a joke.

And Fox New's questions were more about the "gotcha" effect than any substance.

Why people like Hutchinson, Burgrum, Karen and Gov. Fat Fatty are running is beyond me. They're just wasting everyone's time.

I watched about 20 minutes.. Nikki Haley seemed to want to make herself relevant and kept yelling over everyone.

I disagree with the Biden/Trump basement comparison.

Trump is not afraid to debate anyone, that said (by all accounts) there was literally nothing to gain from that gab-fest last night.

Let them all eat each other for a round or two and cull the herd a little bit, then step in. It's not like anyone is going to learn anything new about Trump at these early debates.

Looks like Trump's audience last night was over 10 times larger than the audience that saw the debate last night.

No doubt. It reflected poorly on every candidate and he was able to talk 1 on 1 with a much bigger platform.

As always, he knew exactly what he was doing in regards to marketing his campaign in the best light with the most views.

MSM might not have liked it but clearly was the best choice. He’ll be up there eventually. No reason to be there in that shiii show

I've seen enough, Trump is going to win the nomination. I can see why his team is propping up Vivek... what a lightweight. Devastating performance watching, actually one of the worst I have EVER seen, but then reading Twitter appears he won? RDS is competent, but will never gain any traction because of the online spin against him. Haley is competent, but is simply on the wrong side of too many big issues for the GOP electorate.

Trump is very good at controlling the narrative among the GOP base. Too bad it doesn't work among the general electorate.

I keep hearing she won from 'moderates' (& Vivek). If those are her stances, she came in last. Diet Democrats lose to Democrats.

RE: anyone watching the 'debate'?
Why would I bother to watch a "debate" between a bunch of pretenders? We know who the nominee will be. I also did not watch Tucker and Trump. If I feel the need, I suppose I can watch later.

Still over a year to go before the fraud kicks in again. I have seen/heard/read about very few election law changes in various states, so I expect come Nov. '24 to be round two of the same old Schiff.

They're going to try to ramp up covid scare, mail in ballots, etc.

I have to hope that enough Americans who people believe will vote Dem to quietly vote for the other team this time, having seen what team blue has done to this country. That's a hope but the truth is, I have so little faith in the American people to act rationally.
