I'm not at all a fan of shere kahn's go-to "prog filth" refrain, but this is one time where it may be appropriate.

Donald Trump does not belong in office - - for nearly countless reasons. But he also is an American citizen, and does not deserve to be politically targeted by a Biden Justice Department that has run amok.

Fully agree. But that doesn't change the fact that he was caught red handed. Obstruction at minimum, but obviously a lot more serious charges are there.

I'm disgusted by all of this. He should have just given the damn documents back and I don't think he'd have any issues in this case. Why did he keep them when told to send them back? Why did he not respond for months? Why did he have his lawyers state that everything had been returned? Why did he show people the documents who had no business knowing or seeing them?

I don't believe the bolded sentence for one second. It is appalling that Donald Trump is as stupid as he is, and made this a virtual tap-in for the Garland hit squad. But they were going to find something on him regardless.

Donald Trump is a disgusting person. The Biden Justice Department is a menace to our nation.

Thats not s very nice thing to say. Know him well do you?

Well enough to be passingly familiar with some of the contractors that he cheated via shell-company bankruptcy filings. Well enough to understand what he did in cheating common folk with the snake-oil scam of Trump University. Well enough to know that he hires complete skunks (Michael Cohen being just one example) and then tries to pretend that he is above it all.

Yeah, I'd say I know him well enough.

So not at all.

The irony of this after all the personal attacks you make against people here. Trump is better known than the people who post in this forum but you have no issue saying awful things about people you've never met.

He cant declassify the 'concerning US nuclear weapons stuff' (Document in count 19)

That is controlled by the Atomic Energy Act, and the only people that can declassify the document in question by statute is a joint decision by the AEC and the DoD.

https://sgp.fas.org/othergov/doe/rdfrdht...formation.

Yeah, but he argued last night that all of it falls under the Presidential Records Act. I've seen a handful of people claim that the Atomic Energy Act would be overruled, I'm not a legal or constitutional scholar so I don't know how that would go down in a court challenge.

There is no universe where the PRA allows a President to designate AEA protected documents as protected under the PRA.

To do that would require the AE secrets somehow are 'personal papers' -- NFW that happens.

PRA says 'Presidential papers must be returned, personal papers can be kept'.

PRA is an empty smokescreen for the 100 or so classified papers, and zero smokescreen for the accompanying obstruction. The PRA *is* applicable to the other 10k documents that were seized in conjunction with the classified stuff.

And again, it doesnt matter if Trump did a magic 'spooky declassify by magic' --- that is moot for purposes of 793 which is directed to 'national defense information' w/o regard to classification status. And that magic 'declassify' doesnt touch the AEA stuff in the slightest as a rule of law.

The obstruction is what absolutely kills Trump's claims. The PRA is simply frantic waving of the hands for the subject of the indictment, which seems to be the favorite Trump go-to tactic.

Exactly right. They don't care, they don't care, they don't care as long as they "get" Trump. People that feel this way are just commie crap on a stick.

It's been about that since the day he got elected.

Sorry, the dude's not a good person. Serial liar, cheater on his wife, scammed people in business, doesn't pay his bills, goes full racist on the CP5 AFTER they were exonerated, sees women as objects to use, and possess, and insult when he does not think they're attractive, and on and on.

If you want to extol his "accomplishments" as president, by all means have at it. But please don't tell us the guy is some great person.

Trump shouldn't be indicted because the left doesn't police their own candidates/politicians. No equal justice, no jail. None of the details matter because we live in a two tiered justice system.

They don't have the moral high ground. Hillary Clinton obstructed and deleted emails, Biden has boxes in his garage. Bill Clinton kept tapes in his drawer. You cannot enforce the "law" for only those you politically are against.

It's like millionaire climate change activists having bigger carbon footprints than the normal working man. Or talk about the sea levels rising yet moving to the coastal cities. Or Or being a sanctuary city/state and not accepting illegals. Or claiming to want to soak the rich yet set up loopholes where you don't have to pay those high taxes. Or wanting to expand public education by any means necessary but send their kids to private schools.

Of course there are many hypocrites on the right and you can list those out. However, liberals don't live up to the standard they want to set for everyone else who aren't them, and that's the problem here. Not documents. That's why so many here are upset about the entire situation...

Defund the police but have taxpayers pay for your private security?

Rail against elite white privilege for an entire year while burning down cities, yet defending the Biden family ad nauseam.

This is the point that the idiots simply don't get. It's not about Trump, it's about equal justice under the law.

And they'll say "well if Hillary and Biden went to jail I'm ok with that too".

All the while KNOWING that will never happen.

Societal crotch rot.

Your rant might hold water if ANY former president had done ANYTHING even remotely comparable to what trump's accused of.

There simply IS no equal act from another president, VP, SOS, etc. So how can you have equal justice for unequal activities? 01-wingedeagle
