RE: Coaching Carousel Thread 2022
It speaks well of CC and his mentoring abilities that so many of his assistants have gone on to bigger and better things. If I was a young D2 or FCS coach I would love to come to EMU and be part of his staff and be part of the best culture and value program IMO in the MAC and one of the best in the entire country.

He seems to build a superior culture. It cannot be an accident that QB Michael Penix transferred from one Creighton disciple, Tom Allen at IU, to another at Washington. I assume there was collaboration with DeBoer on the move.
No hires like Josh Gattis who spit back at you when they depart.

Recruiting coaches is like recruiting players - guys go where they will get the opportunity to grow themselves and their career. CC has two former coordinators who are P5 HCs. Who else in the MAC can say that? It's an underrated skill.

No Dan they didn't. But some of the top rumored candidates have said no. Could be a lot of reasons. Bowling Green hired a great candidate in a short time. I would think Buffalo would be more attractive than Bowling Green

I hope they hire Rob Murphy, Jim Boone, Milton Barnes or Charles Ramsey.

And great local media coverage for a MAC team.

Unrealistic expectations from Buffalo admin.

Hearing about another coaching staff departure. That would be the 5th since the bowl game?

It’s great that other coaches recognize the value in hiring Chris Creighton assistants but this will impact recruiting and scheming. So although we have some talent coming back, last year’s team was last year’s team. This season has huge question marks partly due to coaching turn over.

RE: Coaching Carousel Thread 2022
Word I'm getting from my favorite Eagle is that these coaching changes should not really impact the team as much as one might think. When I asked him if the thought all the coaching changes might hurt the team, his response via text was, "Shouldn't really. Creighton always hires familiar people so adjustments are easier." I think his point is CC hires coaches he is familiar with and who he knows will buy into the program and its set schemes, so for the players, there aren't a lot of abrupt changes, just minor tweaks as coaching holes are filled. "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

Per the scoop:
Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan has an immediate opening for a wide receivers coach. Interested candidates should email mpiatkow@emich.edu
Ben Needham was a ST coordinator at Kent State
Isaac Reed was the ST Coordinator at SE Missouri State

It makes me a little sad that his underlings are getting filthy rich and the man himself is still grinding in relative obscurity. Selfishly, I hope he retires at EMU but a part of me wouldn't mind seeing him getting rewarded with a shot on the biggest stage, making big $$$...of course after we win the MAC championship.

Chris Creighton has made over $5.5 M the past 10 years while at EMU. Probably 4 or 5 times all of you have made in your lifetimes.

Relatively speaking, yes he is wealthy BUT in the college football world, he is nowhere near as rich as a P5 head coach. I hope this point is obvious...
