Ugly comes in a lot of forms, physical attractiveness is only one of them.

Unfortunate, and coach needs to address it.

That is the coach's job.

We've got to do something about our image.

What happened?

Doc Holiday showed the clip on his sports segment tonight.

From what it looked like, one of our girls (I think Shutes) punched a Bowling Green player in the handshake line and knocked her out. She had to be restrained by the coaching staff and taken off the floor.

No idea what was said after the game or what instigated the punch.

Inmaturity and being a sore loser is what instigated the punch. They lost to a team that's flat out better than Memphis, be the 22/23 year old adult, hold your cheer up and swallow the ego for 10-15 seconds, shake hands and walk off the floor. It's totally inexcusable for actions like that to take place.

I don't know what happened, I didn't watch the game, but I saw the video. She represented our University, city, and all of Haywood poorly.

Can't shoot away from home lately.

The team has done far more than expected.

Marjorie Taylor Greene ugly.

Lauren Boebert ugly.

You crazy. I don't care what your politics are, those are some fine looking ladies.

Objectively, MTG looks like a Neanderthal. I might give you Boebert.

But they’re both absolutely and irreparably two of the dumbest people on this planet.

Boebert is totally hot.

But you don't stick your dick in batsh*t crazy (or at least don't give her your phone number).

Local police are getting involved now.

Whatever happens, I feel terrible for coach Merriweather. She has busted her arse trying to rebuild this program into something respectable, and then something stupid like this happens.

Even though her eligibility is over coach must remove her from the team. She* cannot permit her to have any ties to the team.

Sad that someone that came back from injury in her sophomore year and came back not only to play but to play so well. Has to have her career end like that.

*sorry coach auto-correct on my android changes what I type even if I type want to type. This time putting "he" instead of the "she" that i typed.

RE: Thread for the ladles tonight?
Shutes and Brett had a rough collision earlier in the game that lead to her sitting out of the game for a bit. The refs didn't review it, but it appeared that Shutes took a blow to the face...but to me it just looked like incidental contact from a basketball play.

Brett is a tough defender on the court (1st team Defense all-MAC), and took several charges during the game...and stymied Memphis and Shutes all night which lead to their poor shooting effort. So it's understandable that she would be pissed, but you gotta let that go during the post-game. Just no excuse to punch someone.

The local paper reported that Brett had some swelling in the face and was speculating that it might effect her availability for the next game, but that's WAY premature IMO as the next game isn't until Monday.

Brett is from Australia and is a sweetheart off the court...but she drives pretty much everyone from the other team crazy on the court. 03-wink

I was expecting a much closer game and thought BG would likely lose as they were missing their point guard and even better defender, the MAC DPOY, Nyla Hampton.

Probably just more surprised than anything. Brett usually gets knocked down on the court several times a game, and did so in this game as well. She's a tough girl. You're just not expecting a punch in that situation...

Awful and disgusting. Aside from the legal ramifications, that boneheaded act is not what the university or the city needs. The people who are of the mind that Memphis is nothing but thugs have more material to work with.

It was unacceptable on Shutes' part, as was her "T" late in the game.

Shutes overcame a blown knee in her sophomore season but worked hard to return to action the next season and have a great career.

Sadly all the hard work and a successful career will be overshadowed by one moment of stupidity.
