The scoreboard has disappeared on the FloSports stream...I think it's the first time this has happened where I'm not tearing my hair out. More fun to watch not knowing the score

Ayesa’s trey was so smooth that the scorekeeper didn’t even credit it. In fact, it must have broken the scoreboard because Flo hasn’t shown the score since.

It's bad enough, score-wise, we don't need injuries, too!
Hofstra shooting 75% so far this half.

So do we go from our largest tourney point differential win to our largest point differential loss?

Put Hicks in. He’s from Maryland and his parents are probably there.

Holy smokes, what a beating! Congratulations to Hofstra on a quality season and best of luck to Dane Fischer in his next endeavor.

RE: CAA Mbb vs Hofstra
Not that anyone here has forgotten...but Shaver was dismissed after a 6 point loss in the equivalent round of the tournament after going 10-8 in conference. In the three prior seasons, the Tribe had a winning conference record each year, but had admittedly only won one tournament game each year.

Fischer was brought in for the "long term success of the program." Today the Tribe loses in the second round by nearly 50 points after yesterday being only it's second tournament win in 4 years. It is the third consecutive season of a losing conference record.

How is that long term success coming? Huge is gone, but Rowe stood by her decision to fire Shaver and only threw Huge under the bus when her brash decision making started to reflect on her. Time to demand success and restart.

That was really bad, getting more than doubled up. The kids didn't give up in the second half, so credit for that.

Most do.

But I have to say, I never had the feeling we played THAT bad. They were just unconscious on shooting.

At least Football had a weather excuse. Funny how some games you have to watch the whole game…whereas other games you know almost immediately how it is going to go. W&M had two shots blocked in the first couple of minutes…plus 3 (!) travelling calls (thanks officials) and it was obvious already that this game would not favor the Tribe.

It is certainly the biggest loss in any kind of recent memory. We lost to Kentucky by 45 like 20 years ago, but managed to out-suck that today.

What if I told you your problem will disappear in 24 hours?

RE: CAA Mbb vs Hofstra
We have uncertain or poor commitment from the College for MBB.

If the “problem” is gone within 24 hours we will have about $2.5 million more to worry about. ($600,000 in coaching “dead gap salaries” and $2.1 minimum shortfall in Kaplan improvements).

Not to suggest the the current coach is the solution but perhaps the real problems have been hidden by two coaches in 50+ years who outperformed.

If we are to lose, a complete ass kicking was the best outcome. It completely takes the Dane extension off of the table (which I believe would have been possible with an upset win vs the 1 seed). The real question is if Mann is bold enough to fire Dane. I say it is the smart thing to do. Pull off the bandaid and let the rebuild begin. The success of the women's program in year 1 compared to the direction of the men couldn't contrast more. I'd feel better if Mann would come out and say we cannot afford to make a coaching change rather than the "we believe in what coach Fischer is building" talk we'll get if he's retained.
Show us fans that you are serious about building a winner and I'd expect long time W&M fans to return in droves.

Hofstra wouldn't rest their starters for the whole second half if they were up 100.

Estrada and Thomas have a fifth season of eligibility. They could stay, transfer to make more money, or go pro. If both of them leave, along with the other players who are graduates, Hofstra will not return much, and will be very reliant on transfers next season. I am not saying Hofstra won't be good, just that you may not have to close the gap with the same Hofstra players. Estrada is already at his third school.

You committed 7 fouls and 9 turnovers. From 2010-2011 to before today, the worst margin by a team that committed 7 or fewer fouls and 9 or fewer turnovers was a loss by 28.

Ayesa had his first block since February 1, 2020 against Hofstra. He has more blocks against Hofstra than against the rest of Division I combined.
