If they aren't, then we'll probably cover the spread.

There's no reason for Gonzaga not to beat us by 30 whether we won this game or not.

NIU was never trending upwards, They made a ton of 3’s vs EIU so it gave the appearance of looking like a team improving. Hopefully next year they don’t. Play all these road games. It’s not going to make them better

11 of 23 (47.8%) against LIU
10 of 26 (38.5%) against UNI
14 of 25 (56%) against EIU

That was 35 of 74 (47.3%)over the last 3 games.

So, it was a little more than just a ton of 3s vs EIU.

Ok! They came in with a one game winning streak and in all likelihood they will be on a 3 game losing streak. Huskies are a young team with a young coach and doesn’t appear to have much player leadership. Just get some experience see who comes back next year and hopefully win a few more games next year. 11 non conference games next year how about 5 road games against the big boys and six home games against other mid majors/Illinois schools.

BigRed, the three teams you just mentioned to show NIU was more than just making 3’s have won 4 games combined. Idaho has 3 wins. I’ll stick to they got hot from 3 and it made them look a little better.

And?

Is this how its done? Make a definitive statement. Get proved wrong. Change statement. Act like that was the intent all along?

Just two weeks ago, some here decided this team wouldn't win any games this year. Now we're discrediting the wins and performances in close losses because the opponent wasn't good enough completely ignoring the fact that they've played 3 consecutive games where they shot well and in a game where they traveled for 2 1/2 days and literally haven't been in DeKalb in almost a week, we're going to make sweeping generalizations about them shooting bad.

I'm sure, once we lose to Gonzaga, you and some others will be embarrassed once again to have any affiliation with the team/program/school.

Fine. You do you. But when you're wrong...own it.

I was one who thought the team would not win a game this year and stated such. Now I find they can be entertaining at times and look forward to going to the Convo a couple of times this year.

None, which isn't surprising.

He started and only played 7 minutes against EIU so something may have come up on him during that game.

So is the team just living in a hotel for 10 days waiting for Gonzaga game?

I was thinking the same thing. Already thinking about next year. Lol. Our basketball team is sooo bad. Normally that’s not a big deal if the football team is good, but…

So we spent a bunch of money and had a quick turnaround from EIU game to go all the way to Idaho just to fly back for a week then fly back there?

Even if we didn't lose the Idaho game what was the point of it? There are plenty of D1 schools in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin we could have played closer and in our same timezone.

Are you serious? Do you have any idea how difficult scheduling has become? Proximity and time zone goes contrary to the idea of being able to find opponents not to mention most people prefer or at least like the idea of facing opposition from different conferences and parts of the country. Not only is that variety a positive, some trips are a reward of sorts for players who may never have been to a certain state or location. What's the point? Please list any of the "D1 schools in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin" who would automatically welcome NIU on their schedule if they're factoring in strength of schedule.

Siu, WIU, SIUE, U of I, Iowa St., Milwaukee, Marquette. I’m sure all these teams would play NIU if they could fit them in schedule. So many teams playing tournaments makes scheduling hard. Gonzaga fit them in and don’t seem to be worried about strength of schedule. The money spent traveling is a issue, no?
