I think Sam Houston fans are split, but online, they have a large presence that mostly seems to be very pro-CUSA. A lot of interaction with other CUSA team posters. I think in the beginning there was some trepidation but as time has gone on they have become more and more excited.

This is very accurate. We are very split on this move. And 90% of social media fans are for the move. I'd say we are at 60%-40% overall. 60 are happy 40 are very very not happy. It's hard for fans of a nationally contending team to "move up to move down" to most likely never see the playoffs again and certainly never win another natty. Most understand this is the best move to stay relevent seeing FCS become the true new D2 and the G5 (or whoever isn't B1G/SEC really) becoming the new FCS. The only true arguments from the nay sayers are 1. playoffs and 2. facilities/attendance which need massive improvement across the board. Only time will tell, but I think by the end of the 2024 season all fans will be very happy after we reach our first Bowl Game before TXST.

As to the overall happiness I would probably switch us and J'ville

I would put JSU higher, after the KSU addition even a little higher.
Happy we were not put in the bottom conference, SBC.

The reason I didn't put KSU higher is I couldn't find a lot of posts on their forums and some KSU fans were concerned about cost and raising student fees and whether KSU was ready. The weird thing for me is MTSU fans have mostly been very pro CUSA since the start, unlike many of the other holdovers from its previous version. A lot of their fans want to get rid of their football coach, but they have been overwhelmingly positive about CUSA, at least from my perspective.

This is spot on for MT. We’re more upset with Stock still being the coach and our idiot president and AD for giving him that contract. I’d say we’re probably 80/20 split in favor of staying/going. Overall CUSA 4.0 is as good as Judy could have done.

I would think any fan of any school would hope for better, but also be glad for the gains they make. Cusa is clearly better than being Independent and BCS is clearly better than 1AA. As an UCF fan I was happy to make the jump to Division 1A, and happy to get in the Mac, then Cusa, and then AAC. At the same time I hoped for and desired more. I am excited to be moving to B12, and think we are now where we will be for a long time, but still could look at SEC and BIG and hope. Good luck with the new makeup of CUSA.

I'm glad the sb3 are gone. It's strange to see their fans here banging their sb drum. I guess the grass isn't greener on the other side.

I think MTSU at 4. is probably high. They aren't as bad as WKU and LaTech, but their fanbase in general is at best apathetic right now. Not all of that angst is directed towards realignment, but the initial statement wasn't specific about that criteria.

Facts. I speak for ALL New Mexico State fans, but especially CSNBBS posters “PonoaquePosse”, “Todor” and “YesCubanB”, when I say NMSU fans were IRATE to hear they were joining CUSA without their arch-rival Tarleton State.

I mean we were bowl eligible in our 1st and 2nd full years so it hasn't been ALL bad but yeah we definitely fell off the cliff after that

But if you look at our athletics overall and not just football, moving to the FBS has raised the profile and quality of all of our sports. Some might see our football record and think "oh we don't want to be like that, we shouldn't move up", and I wouldn't blame anyone for that take, but I'm sure there are a lot of schools that would love to have our overall athletic success.

Also spot on, if we’re factoring in overall happiness with our situation we’re near the bottom. CUSA isn’t the major factor there though.

Learn the definition of bottom. The SBC is no where near the bottom in basketball whereas CUSA is the bottom ranked FBS football conference.

Second, we are less than 10% thru the 22-23 basketball season. Therefor Sagarin isn’t worth looking at yet. At least according to Jeff Sagarin it’s not.

It's hard to order theses school. One loud unhappy online fan doesn't represent a schools fan base and some on that list has a smallish online fan base. Some of these schools fans have their own message boards.
But I'd have to say Jax St would have to be in that #1 spot. I don't think we have a naysayer. And CUSA was our preferred location before the latest realignment Armageddon. So win win for Jax St.
I am elated to not be relegated to the sbc.
And it does seem WKU would be at the bottom but only because they have a few fans on here who piss and moan alot.
In general I'd say the fcs schools would be at the top while the independent schools to the middle. The school that appears apathetic and then those not chosen toward the bottom

I think our anger is more towards our own administration, for sitting on their asses for years not even trying to raise money to better our facilities.

Murfreesboro is ranked the #1 most-growing city in the nation (for cities with a population of 100,000 or greater). If you cannot raise money here, you're not even trying.

It is quite baffling, but there are rumors that say that Prez Seven-Wood likes it that way (i.e. he keeps his job if he does what UT-Knoxville wants him to do). I've also heard that ut-k wants us to move down to FCS.

7-Wood McPhee has been here over 20 years and just signed an extension to December 2026. Our enrollment has been steadily decreasing for years. Who in the hell keeps him in power ?

That said........we cannot blame the "arnge" for all of our misgivings, although they do make it difficult.

Western Kentucky has a very good athletic program, and has done well since their move-up just a few years ago. I like the Marshmallows and feel sorry they didn't get a ticket yet. Perhaps they will in the future if they keep up thier good work, which I'm pretty sure they will. Hope we get to play them in the future sometime even though they're much better than us.

I guess Kennesaw State and the other GA schools are fortunate that UGA doesn't give a single thought to other schools in the state. Just know they will NEVER EVER play you in football or publicly acknowledge you exist..lol..Honestly, I don't get why Tennessee cares what you guys do..And don't mention decreasing enrollment too loud around Kennesaw State administration. They will be trying to buy your school and make it a satellite campus..lol..They already grab every piece of real estate in Kennesaw, and are always looking to expand..

Sun Belt is the worst of the G5 football conferences in basketball, at least going off last year. And CUSA is about to gain.
