These places (like MV or NYC) went out of their way to make sure they let everyone know they supported illegal migrants with their Sanctuary City designation.
These cities and towns on the border are not sanctuary cities, but are still forced to deal with this crush of people on a daily basis. The United States is a single country despite the fact that each state is a little different from each other, this is still a United States problem, not just a Texas or Arizona or NM or Florida problem. If you are a sanctuary city in this country it can be your problem too.
Cry me a river if you don't have the space, you don't seem to care that the border states and cities don't have the space either but they have to deal with it.
Seriously Tom - these places have asked for it and now they are getting it and they don't like it. How would you like to be El Paso (just to name one place) who doesn't have any choice? Put your politics aside for a second and ask yourself that question. Let's say some random place in your state (like Jackson Michigan for example) was overrun by a few thousand illegal immigrants from Texas because they declared itself a sanctuary city..... How are they going to feel about being sanctuary then?
This is actually not a political situation even though it has become one. You have people and governments right up to the highest office who are supporting an action that breaks a federal law in this country and all you care about is the political optics on DeSantis?

First, the reply you quoted from me was in response to CP's post that Treasury was looking into this.
And I doubt MV or any other SC would take much of an issue with getting immigrants. The problem is the illegal and secretive way in which that POS DeSantis and scumbag Abbott went about it. Immigration is an issue that needs addressed and both parties have failed. Pathetic stunts using people's lives as political props is despicable. Especially from hypocrites who supposedly run on being Christians or Christ-like.

LMAO!! Let me know when one of the "sanctuary cities" calls a border state governor and asks for bus loads of illegals to be sent there.

Yet flying them out in the middle of the night around the country is above board. Funny thing about MV is the migrants were sent away pretty quick as they were up in Chicago. The thing that seems to make you on the left mad is that the blatant hypocrisy has been laid bare.

This is your response? "Illegal and secretive way?"
YOUR fuking president is doing NOTHING to curb the migrants coming over the border into our country; and in a manner which is against the laws of our country. He is turning a blind eye to this and just letting those towns and cities along the border "just deal with it". Just like the economy - oh well, I know prices are through the roof - just deal with it American people.
As I clearly said - this is a US problem not just a Texas or Arizona border town problem. Do you not agree with this? WTF is the matter with you? Out of sight out of mind? NIMBY?
It is convenient for you to spread the wealth like you do. "Well this is a problem both sides have ignored...." So that makes the number of people running over the border NOW (and ever SINCE JB took office) in record numbers excusable.
I should expect nothing less from you. Your President has made a "previously ignored and bipartisan failure to address problem" multiple times worse, and you want to make excuse "cuz before...".
BIDEN HAS CLEARLY ALLOWED THIS PROBLEM TO ESCALATE MULTIPLE TIME MORE THAN HIS PREDECESSOR.
So wait.. When Abbott and DeSantis shipped illegals it was illegal and secretive, but what about when the Biden administration did it in the middle of the night?
You know how people in Christ's time dealt with people coming into their towns/villages? They built walls.
Also in Romans it tells us we must obey the laws of man... So these people who came in illegally didn't follow the laws of man...

That wasn't "illegal or secretive" to tom because a Democrat did it.

The D's are blind to their own hypocrisy.
Dude, what the administration did was in no way comparable to what was done to the human beings who were lied to and used as political props. Just stop.

Ah yes. Sending people to Martha's Vineyard, NYC, and DC in plain daylight is a mortal sin.
Sending plane/bus loads all over the country in secret is a-ok.
Remind us again, how many refugees you've taken into your home and given food and shelter?
The word hypocrite doesn't even begin to cover it.

So the cities who received those people knew they were coming with more than 24 hours notice? In the cloak of night?

Dude, you really need to stop listening to political ads.
You're likely referring to flights of unaccompanied minors that yeah, sometimes happen at night...mostly to save money on the flights. They're not nefarious, nor secret and yeah, the people know where they're going and the place they're sent know they're coming as they're released to a parent or a sponsor.
They could also be flights of adult detainees that are merely being flown to another facility for deportation proceedings...so again, yeah, they know they're coming.
Additionally, the same thing happened under past administrations, including trump. They're not just being flown to some city and told to leave the plane and have a nice day.

At this point not admitting the hypocrisy is straight up partisanship. Nothing else can explain it.

They weren't political props, so sending them to red states was in the middle of the night was just coincidence and when these same governors sent them to the "sanctuary cities" it was wrong.
I love these threads.. It really shines a spotlight...
Quote:A City Hall staffer was fired Wednesday after he was secretly recorded slamming Mayor Eric Adams‘ handling of the flood of migrants entering the Big Apple.
Christopher Baugh, a member of Adams’ advance team, gave a withering critique of his boss in the undercover video recorded by the right-wing organization Project Veritas and released on Tuesday.
He said the influx of migrants coming in from Texas is causing the city to go broke and called their arrival in New York City “a very perilous situation.”
“And I don’t know that Eric Adams is capable enough to navigate it,” Baugh said in the recorded video.
He added that Adams has no plan to manage the growing number of new arrivals.
“We’re building a tent city. We’re parking these people in plastic tents on Randall’s Island,” Baugh said. “They’re not getting good stuff. We’re kicking them out of hotels because it’s tourist season and hotels want to raise their rates.
“It’s a f–ked proposition any way you look at it,” he added.
A spokesperson for the mayor said Baugh was booted from City Hall for “disparaging first responders.”
Baugh was also recorded knocking cops by Project Veritas.
“Being a cop is like the cushiest gig in the city,” Baugh said. “Like, you might get shot, but otherwise it’s very good.”
He bashed police who refused to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and therefore lost their jobs.
“They [former NYPD officers] chose not to do a very, very harmless thing that protects the rest of society — f–k ’em,” he said. “I don’t give a s–t. They’re like ‘Wah, this is unfair’ — f–king deal with it.
“I have no sympathy for them,” Baugh added.
The mayor’s office downplayed Baugh’s role in City Hall, calling him “a low-level staffer who had no private or special access to the mayor” and said he was not hired by the Adams administration.
“His comments today disparaging first responders are completely unacceptable, and we’ve terminated this employee effective immediately,” Adams’ press secretary, Fabien Levy, said in a statement. “Mayor Adams will always stand up for our first responders and have their backs.”
Levy also denounced Project Veritas, calling the organization’s behavior “shameful.”
“Let’s also not forget that, time and again, Project Veritas has lied to spin false narratives and deceive the American people,” he said. “This is an enterprise run by a convicted criminal and one that admitted to lying about their identity and their intent just to secretly record and have conversations with this now-former employee.”
Baugh previously made headlines in July when he was mugged at gunpoint on a Brooklyn street in broad daylight.

Yep, the admin sure wasn't sending them to Martha's Vineyard in the dead of the night.

Comparing apples to oranges is just downright deceptive. Nothing else can explain it.
What DeShameful did was not placing unaccompanied minors with parents or sponsors, nor was it sending adults to other sites for hearings. It was butting into an issue, immigration, which is the responsibility of the federal government. Not to mention it was deceptive, most likely illegal, and it was downright despicable to just use people for a political stunt. A stunt he paid for with money not even meant for it.
This was in NO way comparable to what BOTH the Biden and trump administrations did with their flights.
But yeah...use colorful words like the "Cloak of night" to make your deceit seem more ominous.
