Offense looks good. Playcalling questionable at times. Defense has to improve. That last drive with the crowd definitely rattled Astate. Was pretty much quiet before that.

Miserables
Then the biggest miserable is named Silverfield. Did more good than bad, but still not playing up to where we should be.
Every game so far our safety has gone to double team and gets beat deep.
We doubled two guys on one play. Still got beat only to see QB miss the receiver. Even worse we left one guy completely uncovered deep and Blackman didn't see him.
As Dana Kirk said in every winning post game, if we play like this the next game we will get beat.

On the negative side, I'm still seeing the defense take awful angles in the flat & it's letting guys get the corner for big gains. Lots of missed tackle in that same area of the field. Those things can be cleaned up. But a win is a win. Take it, learn from it & move on.

The tackling at times borders on Larry Porter era, bad. When it doesn't, we get often get stops.

We have a lot of fans that are so angry and upset after a win. It's insane.

From what i saw last night State was every bit as good as the Tigers. Maybe ASU is improving, maybe we are slipping, but those were two evenly matched teams. The Tigers are gonna have problems when we play teams that are decent. I guess I am a pessimist because I was not impressed from what I saw last night. QB and LB's are pretty dang good though. But a win is a great thing and it beats losing.
I think the staff needs to send a thank you basket to ASU's OL after imploding on those last three plays.

I didn’t see that
They were good enough and remained competitive and could have pulled off the upset
But as frustrated as Memphis fans were…stepping back we were the better team and deserved the win…again
Who cares if we are supposed to be better and all that crap. We were better and while they made some specific plays to stay close and get a late lead we made more plays and when it really counted out them away…hard

This game easily could have went the other way. The 4th down conversion on our go ahead drive was huge. Miss it and we probably lose.
I couldn’t figure out what ASU was thinking at the end of the first half. They had timeouts and let the play clock run down when they were near midfield. Strange possession, but works for us!
We’re not a great team, but they do play hard. ASU may not be world beaters, but we won and that’s good with me! Go tigers!

1. Arkansas St held up to Ohio St until late in 2nd Q. They might be a better team than most suspect. We’ll know more as the season progress
1. The tigers issues especially on defense are fixable. The main problem as it was mentioned above was knowing how to tackle out in the flat from a angle. They could had easily stopped those 5 to 7 yard gains if they were better at attacking the edge. If they had done that then the game would had been a comfortable win
