Nah, I was just comparing our best five bowl wins to the best five from the school of the fan who claimed, falsely, that we had ‘never won anything’

Besides our Hawaii Bowl MWC win, we also have a MWC win in the Armed Forces Bowl and a dismantling of WMU in the Texas Bowl, all coming during what I’ll call “The ECU era”. Didn’t mention the last two because while special, they didn’t make our top five.

There is a lot of talk about football in this thread. Rice has been arguably, the best overall in CUSA and projects to be in the top three immediately in at least a half dozen sports once we join this league.

ECU had a solid baseball team this year and really should have played in Omaha. Rice made Omaha 5 seasons in 10 years and besides the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, was in the final four three of those five years.

“never won anything” only accurate if you only look at the last seven years, and only look at football.

Most of us (including lots of Pirate fans, thank you, arrr!) aren’t that myopic.

But it is because of some Pirates’ attitudes like this fans that I will look forward to beating ECU in most sports next year in the AAC.

Todge got it right.

SMH. Please stop with chest pounding in minor sports.

Football and men's basketball are the only sports significantly moving the needle and elevating the perception of the AAC. Focus on excelling in those sports.

We don’t do chest thumping.

Cool pic. If only Rice brought the same ferociousness and resolve to their football and basketball teams…..

So here we are. Charlotte loses to William & Mary, Temple gets shutout by Duke, and ODU, who was picked to finish LAST in the Sun Belt East, just beat Virginia Tech.

The Sun Belt has two more great opportunities tomorrow with UNC and South Carolina as well. Troy should compete with Ole Miss as well.
Lol, UNCC lost to William and Mary? I forgot they even played football until I read that. 03-lmfao

Rice (football) must have heard ya.

Toe to toe with USC. Three long drives for TDs so far and Rice on its way… oops they picked up the flag and Rice with first punt of the day. 7-7 after 1Q and 7-14 now.

The Sunbelt would wet their pants if they ever had the prestigious United States Naval Academy join their conference. Not gonna happen as Navy would never join the lowly Sunbelt.

The Sun Belt is historically the worst conference in FBS while the AAC has been one of the most successful. Please go back to your board and enjoy your no market conference with 12,000 fans per game. If a Sun Belt team beats a team in front of 1100 people, did it actually happen? Haha garbage conference with no history of winning and no markets plus no academics. Enough of you.

Funny seeing Tulane's only fan talking smack about a conference that would beat it like a drum, while being in a weaker conference that does beat it like a drum lol. And talking fan smack when Tulane has 2000 fans show up, FAU, Rice and Charlotte have 200 fans at games, lol.

Tulane just put a beating on UMass 42-10. Granted UMass is terrible but Tulane took care of business tonight. I have a feeling that Tulane is going to be the surprise team in the AAC this year.

Marshall does not have grounds to talk smack. You won weakened C-USA once in 2014. That's it.

2021 - UTSA (AAC)
2020 - UAB (AAC)
2019 - FAU (AAC)
2018 - UAB (AAC)
2017 - FAU (AAC)
2016 - WKU (C-USA)
2015 - WKU (C-USA)
2014 - Marshall (SB)
2013 - Rice (AAC)

The Sunbelt 3 (USM, Marshall, & ODU) have won 1 combined Championship since current AAC teams left. Not sure where the superiority theory is coming from, but it is not on the field performance.

Give me some of what you’re smoking. After the recent realignment, our conference is tight. But maybe we’ll take Navy at some point in the future. Although I believe ECU is first in the queue. It is only a matter of time when the AAC contract is revalued with the cusa 6.

Why is it always the fans of the bottom feeder schools that want to engage in conference v. conference smack talk?

Your logic is just too sound. ODU>VT therefore fill in the blank w/something ridiculous. I can tell you the SBC will be the best of the G5 in football within ten years. The writing is on the wall. It started w/Cincy, Houston and UFC moving to greener pastures, and will end w/the addition of cusa backfills and the departures of SMU and Memphis.

Let’s see if you’ll rise to the bait.

The AAC issued those invites after they didn't get Air Force, Colorado St, or SD St. It was the fallback option.
