Not sure I have ever seen the preseason media poll so tight at the top. Bearcats get the most first place votes, but Houston most total points in the poll (by 1). No real favorite according to media.

Interesting. Vegas has UC as the favorite.

It's really splitting hairs between UC and Houston based on the media poll but can someone help me with how the media votes? Are they voting for the "best" team or the team that will finish first in the regular season? Houston doesn't play UC or UCF.

UCF is right there too. really not much of a gap between the 3 when it comes to the media poll. I think schedule is likely what holds UC back from being the favorite, having to go to UCF.

Wow, people really hate Temple. 28 points from 24 votes. That’s like 20 last place voters.

More people agree Temple will finish last than who will win the conference.

If you set Tier breaks at 30pts differences

Tier 1:
Houston
Cincy
UCF
(38 pt drop)

Tier 2:
SMU
Memphis
ECU
(42 pt drop)

Tier 3:
Tulane
Tulsa
USF
Navy
(33 pt drop)

Tier 4:
Temple

I’m fine with those Pre-season rankings. Let’s see how the Final Rankings which are the ones that matter end up. Let the season begin.

We also have more Texas media members voting in the poll.

Aresco’s opening statements were a good representation of what college football is at today and set a couple of statements that were interesting.
1. FBS should withdraw from NCAA
2. 12team playoff with 6 auto bids or 16 with 8 auto bids is what he will push for.

Yea. I trust Vegas more than the media...but again. It's literally one vote difference. Cincinnati has the most first place votes. Cincinnati is favored in Phil Steele and SP+. There is no clear, obvious favorite this year.

It would be beneficial for the AAC to at least have one team in the conference championship game this year but it’s going to be difficult. Clear 3 favorites at the top.

But it’s preseason rankings and they mean nothing, so we will see.

memphis was the vegas basketball favorite in 2019 and 2021, when the media had houston..

yall cincy and ucf fans are fighting tooth and nail just to avoid saying Houston is the favorite.. it's wierd.. say we are the preseason favorite but we wont win it post season.. like regular people

i legit haven't seen anyone try to dissect the points to discredit before. ucf won the preseason poll by 3pts in 2020 and we called them the favorites.. not whatever weird thing you guys got going on

Fine... The Media has deemed Houston "the favorite." Happy?

I say this every season: I'm not worried so long as Dana Holgerson is coaching down there. He's the AAC version of Dave Wannsteadt.

Wanna be "the king"? Well, you gotta BEAT the Kings.
Long live the King!

When different sources have different teams as the favorite and there is no general consensus you're not the favorite. This isn't complex and nobody is going out of their way to slight Houston.

Actually, let's go ahead and crown Houston the "Pre-Season Favorites."

Ain't nobody going to "sleep on Houston." You're the prey, we're the hunters.

who is going to the tell the hundreds of media writers currently writting false article about houston being the favorite

and then this is going to run on local cincinnati tv ..

fake news has really gotten out of hand

it literally just ran on Houston morning news that houston is the aac favorite.. the audacity!!!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
vegas has memphis the favorite to win the aac last year in basketball too
https://www.gamblingsites.org/blog/2021-...g-preview/

and different sources had memphis winning it too... what audacity that houston thought it was the favorite in basketball last year too..

it has to be Ponzi scheme set up by houston
