Damn, that was a final four-type game. We gave the overall #1 seed all they could handle, but didn’t finish the job. It shines a light on how poorly the committee seeded the teams this year, or at least that the metrics they use need tweaking.
Proud of my team and my university. Let’s get rolling for next year!

Yep - looking like the disparities in 3’s will be the difference
a point guard that could shoot the 3 and we'd be golden
We lacked a "take over the game" PG or SG.
You need those guys in the 2nd half then the other team is making a run.
We really didn't have that all year, either at PG or SG. Bates might become that but he was not ready yet this year.

Nembhard came down to Memphis and Gonzaga. Imagine if they were able to land him...Hopefully showing we can compete with the best of the best gets us better transfers next season.

That was the number one team in the nation that won by 4. This team was capable. Make two more threes and we are likely I. The sweet 16.
Unless people are promoting the genius idea that all we needed was another all American, because no one knows that adding super high level players always helps
Tyler got abused 5-6 times and they got easy buckets. Shooting over them and such. Harder to do when your getting bodied by a guy just as big as you.
And with all that the number one team won by four primarily because Timme went berserk
You are missing my point
And you are embracing the argument that Memphis would be even better with bigger and better players
Like every team in the country
This team was pretty damn capable, with its good and bads. Like several other teams too

We didn't have a Timme to go unconscious good or a Nembhard to drain every open shot but we could play with them. Probably could beat them 3 or 4 times out of 10 despite that performance difference but not tonight. Still maintain we didn't play our best but we did play pretty good. Just a decision here, a shot there or a rebound & we could have won. Proud of our guys, hope we can find another ready to play big & a PG with an offensive game in the off season, get a good start & not dig a hole for a better seed & move on to a sweet 16 or better next season. But again, proud of All our guys.

They gave up big leads a lot this season. It's something mental, I think.

Its also just the game of basketball. The other team has stud players as well.
College BB is a game of runs. The Zags had games this year where they lost big leads early, everyone in the nation did.
What hurt us is we lack a big guard who can take over when the other team is on a run.
We have good guards but we lack a Finch, Hardaway, CDR or Rose on the floor who can create and force a bucket when you need it most.

We only had 5 TOs tonight. Let that sink in. Had we averaged 15+ like we normally do, it would've been a blowout. We gave them our best shot. It was a true road game and they were expected to win, but we showed our true potential tonight. We had to in order to have a chance to win and that's all the fanbase can ask for.

The team definitely fixed their turnover issues. That was a real deal improvement from earlier in the season. That was a good coaching job on that issue.

I would rather have seen 20 turnovers and another win.

More like we don't have a guard who can go get a bucket when needed, a Burks, Joe jackson, CDR, DWash, etc etc type.

Timberlake, would guess yes
Bates, leaning yes
Lawson, yes
Hardaway, yes
Then there is Camden, other Lawson and Onu
There will be three or four transfers it is just the nature of college basketball now unfortunately.

After watching the replay, we played Dandridge about 2 and a half minutes to long at the end and the refs completely screwed us as far as guarding Timme.

I don't understand why Lawson didn't get some spot minutes. I think he's actually been pretty solid in his limited playing time this season. And after watching the replay I still say it's impossible for any D1 team to go a full 12 minutes without fouling.
