Fraudulent. It must feel dirty to be given a tourney win like that on a terrible and incorrect charge call.

Feeling great. How y'all feeling over on the JMU board as you leave the CAA, watching UNCW do what we always do during championship time and what JMU hasn't done in over 20 years?

Visit more often, maybe the atmosphere of a visiting the board of a winning program will rub off on you, and you can take it back to JMU. Hiring a former UNCW player didn't work, so maybe this will?

The Northern schools aren't working. The CAA South Championship game will blow away the North game and the CAA tournament if it stays up north.

Clearly this guy never watched a Towson home game. They gave away freaking calzones and couldn’t get a 100

DC is the equivalent of Raleigh or Myrtle Beach distance wise from US if not shorter.

I'd like to think if the CAA ever used a 4200 seat arena in our general vicinity, we would pack it

Why would anyone think schools across a far-flung conference - who can't get fans to go to their own home games - could get them to show up many hundreds of miles away?

Say what you will about the old "Virginia Athletic Association", those championship games in the Richmond Coliseum produced some big-time crowds with big-time atmosphere, and they looked a lot better on TV for sure.

Oh, and yeah, there were actual rivalries between the schools involved. Does anyone actually believe that students at say, Elon, regard the Northeastern Huskies as their blood rival?

The crowds in Richmond were electric. My favorite was when we'd face a VA school and they would have 8k, and our 3k would be louder!

W&M packed the upper deck two years ago against Elon which is where the 2,700 came from in 2020. The largest crowd so far this year was the 2,503 for the W&M play-in loss to NU. DC works ok for us though we can’t get past one game.

I think part of the problem with DC is the location. It’s not great. Plus there is no local interest in DC so you get zero casual fans. And the wokeness of the tourney is over the top. It says it’s sponsored by Jersey Mike’s, it sounds like the AOC wing of the DNC. And they ran out of bourbon during the quarterfinals.

That was a big-time championship atmosphere. I think there is zero chance of that being replicated with the current configuration. Adding more schools all over the place will only make it worse.

We keep rehashing the same arguments. This particular problem isn't unique to the CAA. Conference alignment is a mess and it's not working great for the major conferences either. No one gives a rip about Syracuse in the ACC and I'm positive the feeling is mutual from their end. They're not going back to the Big East and we're not going back to the Virginia-centered CAA.

When I went to the Ship in Charleston back in 2017, they had a decent crowd. Charleston is more of a destination though for sure, and we were playing CoC so that drove attendance up there too.

I feel like they should move it back to richmond. The southern schools have better attendance during the regular season and would draw better for the caa tourney if it was held there or in north carolina.

Agree. The coliseum is a little too big for what we need though.

Norfolk scope might work OK with W&M, Hampton A&T and UNCW bringing strong contingents

Congrats on the win. We lost because of your defense and inability to hit even open shots. 52 % from the free throw line did not help us either. Nicest thing about this season for us is 6 freshmen got a lot of minutes and valuable minutes this season. Hope you win.

On attendance any site in NC or SC would have at least twice the number of people going to the games. One place I think would be Myrtle Beach. Northern schools would ***** but they do not show up anyway

Need to change the days as well. The least important games are played when the most fans can attend and the most important games are played when the least number of fans can attend.

Thursay, Friday, Saturday, Sunday would be the best format.

Agreed, or at least Fri thru Monday is a little better.

I traveled to Baltimore a few times and to Charleston twice. Both were really good. But, part of it was that the basketball that season was really good for my school. Your 2017 year, Charleston was electric the whole tournament. 2018 was also still pretty good and far better than anything that has occurred in DC.

I'd be ok with Richmond, Norfolk, or somewhere in NC for the next location. Another year in DC is going to be a real bummer. You would think Delaware would have a lot of fans tonight, but it is a Tuesday in DC.

Also, I love SC, so anywhere in MB would work well for you guys and COC. I think rotating it makes sense. But, I hope it doesn't go way up north for the next rotation.
