If only they had thrown in free calzones, fried dough, and lottery tickets. Thye could have doubled that number!

Agree. The coliseum is a little too big for what we need though.
Norfolk scope might work OK with W&M, Hampton A&T and UNCW bringing strong contingents
While I agree moving the tournament to Richmond would likely improve attendance, they’d have to find a new place to play: the Richmond Coliseum has been mothballed since 2019. The only two suitable facilities in Richmond are the Siegel Center (VCU’s arena) or the Robins Center (at U of Richmond). Pretty sure that wouldn’t work.
In addition to Norfolk (Scope was refurbished recently) Hampton might work, with plenty of lodging nearby plus the recent addition of the Peninsula Town Center (bars, restaurants, etc.) not too far from the Coliseum.
