HRS renovations
Just received an email letter from President Leebron about the state of the University. There was one sentence in the letter that stated that the first stage of the current renovation plans for the football stadium will also kick off soon. Any ideas about the extent of the renovations that will be done.

Strange they want to start before the new President is in place.

The BOB had a field rehearsal.
There's going to be a half time show at an upcoming basketball game.

I don't know.
I was listening to the Steve Reich-like song of an MRI (not in the stadium) during the rehearsal, unable to practice (and unlikely unable to perform whenever it is).

Out of curiosity, Autry court was unavailable for a rehearsal and HRS was it?

RE: HRS renovations
Once it is announced, there will be some pretty extensive upgrades to HRS...some of the changes appear to be really interesting.

I was under the impression that the announcement would be at the end of January...apparently it will be coming soon.

I’ll wager it’s less than a quarter of recent upgrades announced by our “peer” SMU.

HRS is easier.
We go down the locker room hall from the bandhall and we’re in the tunnel.

Show will be next Tuesday.

Better thirty years late than never at all.

Seriously though, I hope these renovations are 'complete' in every way. HRS needs to be brought into the 21st century, and then some. Do everything. Address every problem, and turn it into a 'positive.' Bring the place to life.

They were smart and built a new stadium so they can add more extras since the bones of the stadium are up to date. Back when there was a hint of building a new stadium it horrified most everyone and the moniker HRS became the norm.

RE: HRS renovations
I am convinced that the renovations will be substantial. Multiple tens of millions. I don't think they will be what SOME are after (100+mm -I doubt we're tearing down any stands and don't think we can put a lot more chair backs in, though engineers are great at fixing this sort of problem) but I suspect there will be some long needed and necessary upgrades.

I'd expect concessions, bathrooms, elevators, some bells and whistles, media/press box upgrades, lights and SOME suites... not dissimilar from what I've been talking about for 15 years now... but from people who know specifically what can and can't be done rather than some dude like me just guessing

I think the total spend might be 100+mm, but it would include lots of other things that we wouldn't think of as 'stadium' improvements, at least for the fans.

ETA... there may be TALK of tearing down the upper east, but I suspect that would be 'later'.

Just a guess

RE: HRS renovations
From the tentative plans I've seen, I don't think either of the upper decks will be torn down but they will be "re-purposed".

I think the renovations will solve some long, long needed changes.

Any work will require HRS be brought to current CoH standards.

This will be a MASSIVE expense with very little 'bling' to show for it. This is why we will spend $50mm and get what many other places would get for $20mm. That's okay... it needs to be done... and its not the current administration's fault... but I'm very glad to see (expectantly) that it is finally being addressed. It will make things easier in the future
