Good points. We need to be careful about players not playing because of injury.

Adding Taylor Powell of Troy to the QB list. Lets just put the names in a drum and have CC pick one.

Charlie Batch just put Caleb Williams name out thee. I'll have a scouting report up by noon, just in case... 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

Williams can throw and run. He is my #1 choice. 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

Sign him up. Pay him the 1M NIL. Start selling tickets to the 2022 MACC. 02-13-banana

Creighton had 2018 where we were arguably the best team in the entire conference…when Glass actually played. He took way too long to finally figure out who his best option was (to his credit, he arguably learned from that this season and stuck with Bryant), and that cost us early in MAC play.

Not really here or there in regards to your point regarding decision-making, but we were VERY close to winning the MAC West that year. If Chad Ryland hits the FG in OT against NIU we win the division and go to Ford Field. Ryland missed and we ended up losing in triple OT.

That game was mostly my point. I can’t change history, but I imagine if Glass starts that game then we don’t even need OT to win. Wiegers was 17/40, and it seemed way worse than that honestly. He was horrendous. Glass got the starting gig after that game, until he got hurt against Toledo. But you’re right, that was our big chance to make it to Ford Field and get a rematch against a Buffalo team that we hung tough with on the road.

Woah! Glass had led us back in the prior two games vs Buffalo and San Diego State. From that point on, Coach had clearly decided he was our best quarterback and the starter. The reason why Wiegers played against NIU was the same reason he played much at all the rest of the season, Mike was UNAVAILABLE. He had a shoulder problem.

Glass started the next two weeks, lost a close one to WMU, then tore up Toledo in the first half before ending his regular season with a leg injury. The next five games were all Wiegers. Yet who started and took every snap in the bowl game? Mike Glass! Creighton knew what he had after SDSU, Mike just could not stay healthy that year.

Sam you are a great contributor and your criticisms of Creighton are reasoned and fair for the most part. Blaming him for not playing Glass that year against NIU, however, is not.

My mistake. I remember he was dressed and on the sidelines the whole game. Only info I can even find on his injury is from members of this board, and then he played the following week. Makes little sense to me, but that’s how it’s always been under Creighton. Random guys miss games and we don’t know why.

No surprise. Va. Tech is in the western part of Virginia and going from Marshall to Va Tech is a G5 --> P5 move. His hometown and Blacksburg are about 150 miles apart.

I think Va Tech lost their QB.

Sam you are once again right. There is a paucity of info about EMU players missing games under the Creighton regime. Unfortunately, the news beat coverage of Eastern sports has disappeared, Amy Whitesall, Kevin Ryan and Rich Rezler all now are employed elsewhere and have not been replaced.

Coach uses this to his advantage. Alum 93 and I were absolutely ALARMED when we saw Glass un-uniformed on the sideline vs WMU three year ago. Then the "Glass prepared" Western defense got to see Hutch for the first time and were obviously confused. They clearly were a much better team, but we beat them.

Good stuff. This kind of news vacuum worked for both FB and MBB.

Looks like he has good hands and gets some solid YAC, but he doesn't appear to be the deep threat we are hoping to find.

Not sure. I wish there was some way (other than relying on coaches to tell you) to track available scholarships. I have no idea how many nor if we have any 2022 scholarships left. I would hope we can offer a scholarship looking at the other offers he is attracting.
