I see vibes (Tweets) which suggests that EMU FB will start making offers for the 2022 recruiting class. (EDIT: Are they just soliciting tapes, etc. from 2022 recruiting targets).
Does this mean that EMU will go light on the 2021 class because of spring season and that the players will all gain an additional year of eligibility, which many seniors might utilize???
Here is an example of the Tweet:

EDIT: BTW, I have asked to have this thread promoted to important.

Look for updates in that post as things develop.
The next two years of recruiting will be.... Interesting and highlighted by low #s. This may benefit some of the start up NAIA programs in the State of Michigan like Madonna and LTU.
Who recruits Ohio now that Todd Frakes left? I saw A phenomenal prospect that has 4 D1 offers including Toledo, Akron, Old Dominion, and New Mexico! 6'5" 200 pound WR! Will Futhey from Waverly high school! We need him!

Yes, and also JUCO programs.
A qualifier can go JUCO for one year, e.g., 2021, and then go D-I in 2022. The players would find it beneficial and D-I coaches would like that the players have one season of JUCO ball from which they can use to project to D-I ball.
A normal year would see a class size of about 20 for 2022.

Ah yes, he did commit to MSU and then transferred to EMU. Luckily he got outa Ypsilanti before his check writing issues came to light. He did very well at Kent St and eventually became a solid citizen and a great NFL player who never played college football.
He is the poster child for Steve's previous post. Creighton NEVER would have allowed him or Antonio Brown to come to EMU, that is not who he is. Considering EMU's history, I am on the coach's side but I can see the dissenting viewpoint as well.

With you on that Dan, I think it would be wonderful for both fan and alumni engagement.
That being said, we both might be engaged in prehistoric or at best, outdated thinking. Scott Davis and Walt Church both started for us at QB as well as Ypsilanti High. Ron Adams, our QB in our most successful D-1 season came from nearby Taylor as well. Today none of those schools have produced similar product.
The MHSAA simply is not playing sports at the level that SEC country or for that matter neighboring Ohio does.

Best to go fishing in deep waters.
The SEC has a number of states which produce great harvest of FBS talent.
The B1G states do not have the same great harvest of FBS talent. Too many states don't produce great quantities for their team(s). Many schools need to recruit outside their state.
Anyone think Nebraska can produce enough talent for the Cornhuskers?
Iowa for the Hawkeyes?
Minnesota for the Golden Gophers?
Wisconsin for the Badgers?
Indiana for IU, Purdue and ND?
Lot of B1G teams love to poach MI talent. PSU got 4 of the top dozen. Now more SEC teams are in on the recruiting party.

OTOH, states like FL, Ga, S.C., La, etc. can produce surplus talent for schools beyond their borders.

Good post once again Steve.
The decline of the U-M and MSU football programs can be traced to the lack of quality athletes in Michigan High Schools. M does not have four year starting QB like Rick Leach coming out of Flint or a Drew Henson from Brighton who left early to play baseball. MSU basketball does not have the "Flintstones" winning a NCAA basketball championship. Dick Vitale recruited a bunch of local kids to win at UDM, a great career move that could not be replicated today.
The world has changed.
Yep, Jerry. I'd rather fish in deep waters with plenty of good fish.
No disrespect to say an Indiana, Purdue, Nebraska, Iowa, etc. but they will never be an Alabama, etc.
Recruiting can be like playing the game itself. You can have the home field advantage or you can go on the road.
Those SEC schools have the 'home field' advantage when it comes to recruiting. I'd take the southeast over the Midwest any day.
One can argue that OSU wins big because they are the only B1G school in a state which produces much talent, Ohio.
MI produces less talent and splits it among UofM and MSU.
Seems like a lot going on today from the coaches on twitter about 2022 recruiting. No commitments I don't think, but offers going out I think.

Lots of offers see updated master list at beginning of thread. I update them as I know of offers. I will clean this up later near the fall and start taking names off the list as they commit.
