A police officer might ask you to come in to give for questioning at that point you are not 'detained'. If you get up to leave and they wont let you...you are detained.
So if people block somebody off with their vehicles and come out of those vehicles with guns and tell a guy to stop, that’s not even an attempt to detain? Is it any other possibly illegal activity in your opinion them?
I mean if running in khakis is suspicious, then their activity has to be as well.

I must admit that I have not watched any of the videos, but it is starting to sound like two wrongs do not make a right.
RE: Ahmaud Arbery, 25, Killed while Jogging in Georgia
Quote:Elizabeth Graddy, attorney for homeowner Larry English, said it appears the man may have been getting water on the property.
Graddy wrote there is a water source at the dock behind the house and a water source near the front of the house.
Graddy writes that although the water sources don’t appear on camera, the man moves to and from their locations. Also in the video, Graddy says what sounds like water can be heard on the tape.
Attorneys for Ahmaud Arbery wrote in a statement Friday:
"We have reviewed a number of videos released by the attorney for the owner of the home under construction. We are able to confirm that Ahmaud Arbery appeared in one video, however we are unable to confirm that he appeared in any other videos." Other video obtained by First Coast News shows children and adults walking into the house at different times.
Attorneys for Arbery's family say "there were frequently people on the construction site both day and night. Ahmaud Arbery seems to be the only one who was presumed to be a criminal and ultimately the only one murdered based on that assumption."
Property owners have previously stated nothing was stolen from the home.
And none of this even matters because even if he was "casing the house" to steel something later, it doesn't given the McMicheals the right to chase him down and perform a citizen's arrest.

It will be not guilty or a hung jury. Blacks riot torch their own hoods, more dead black guys at the hands of other blacks, blame whitey, wash rinse repeat. And make sure to jog.

Being hit by the truck and leaving a dent is new information correct? I don't think I'd heard that before.
Also, I'm curious as to whether the posters in this thread that thought previous life history was important will condemn the fact that one of these aggressors had a history of racist remarks and posts. I hope so.

I don't care about his history or their history. They murdered him. They go to jail, they don't pass Go.

Exactly.
Same goes for the cops and George Floyd. Dan Bongino talked about it on one of his podcasts. Floyd was on the ground and handcuffed, the fight was over, the cop should've gotten up but instead put his whole weight on one knee on a defenseless man on the ground in the prone position. The cop should have the book thrown at him.

The bottom line is that the actions of the folks in Brunswick and the officers in Minneapolis are going to be used to reflect badly on the millions of us who would never consider doing such things. The way we can fight back is by condemning and punishing them in the strongest terms and working to try to see that nothing like that happens again.

But I'm not going to protest. I'm not going to post stuff on social media.
Like my wife said last night, it's possibly best to be quiet. White, Christian, Southern, Male.. I'm the demographic that apparently is causing all the problems in the world.

Yes. After they arrested the man who filmed the video, he was able to give them a completely new perspective of the events that lead up to and after the video.
They are going to use Travis McMichael's social media posts to rule this a federal hate crime. It's obvious from them that he's a very prejudiced individual.

If their prior history gets admitted in trial, they will get a mistrial. You can talk about it in public, but the trial needs to be about this instance.
RE: Ahmaud Arbery, 25, Murdered while Jogging in Georgia
Quote:The three men convicted in Ahmaud Arbery's murder were sentenced Friday to life in prison. Travis McMichael, 35, and his father Gregory McMichael, 66, were sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
Their neighbor William "Roddie" Bryan, 52, will have to serve 30 years of his life sentence before he's eligible for parole. The three men, all of whom are White, were convicted in November for the killing of Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, in Georgia in February 2020.
Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley noted how the McMichaels went after Arbery after Gregory McMichael saw him running in a street and said, "Let's go." The judge said, "Ahmaud Arbery was then hunted down and shot, and he was killed because individuals here in this courtroom took the law into their own hands."
