I met Dan last night at the BBall game. He was very friendly and said he was very happy and excited to be at WMU and back to the Midwest.

I'm impressed. He sounds ambitious.

He said he isn't going to accept mediocrity. Hopefully we start to see that ASAP.

He already had a 4 hour meeting with Lester. His priorities are in the right place.

I like what I saw/heard. Seems very very motivated and wanting to be innovate. A much needed change from KB in my opinion.

I think KB has been running on fumes since the 2016 season. She worked her a$$ off but you could tell she was gassed at the end.

I have no doubt that this guy views WMU as a stepping stone, but that may be just what we need right now. If anyone has the drive to find ways around the various challenges facing the department right now, it'd be a young person motivated to move up the ladder.

I prefer hire those wanting to continue their career trajectory. It’s how you get the most out of your people. They want to keep pushing forward. Right up until they eventually leave.

Did anybody here dislike Elson Floyd for using WMU as a a "stepping stone"?

Elson handed me my diploma so maybe I’m biased. He had the university enrollment sky high and WMU was a top 100 university which they always promoted. Education ranking was a lot better then compared to now. Football team was playing for Mac championships. Indoor facility beautifully added and funded. He was a success

Nope no problem. He got things done and set university up and students/alumni in a much better place. I’m results driven.

So if Batholomae does similar things for athletic department - why would you have a problem with him moving up the proffesional ladder?

I have no problem with Dan if he moves on after great results. I was never scared or even mentioned “stepping stone”. Those are other people on here
