Long pass to the right pylon.

It's short. Knocked incomplete!

That’s a Rice play if I’ve ever seen one. Just glad we were on the good side of it.

INT should end it.

Very happy for the players and especially the seniors.

Unhappy for the fans because this comeback win likely means Bloom is back and probably extended.

Well good for the team and the seniors. Glad the refs had the guts to make the all important sideline call. Wow, really....

RE: Rice vs. La Tech
Two penalties: Blind-side block (LaTech?) and sideline warning (Rice). Then unsportsmanlike conduct by LaTech assistant coach.

Rice takes over at Rice 39.

Victory formation!!

35-31!

Unbelievable!!

RFND!!!!!!

Again. Why wait 11.5 games to play McMahon. Did TJ just figure things out at halftime or did Bloom finally figure things out?

Hahaha. Hahaha. Hahaha hahaha

Mahon showed amazing guts, twice getting slammed hard as he was throwing, including the game-winning TD.
I'd also point out that Fresch's critical punt return came about when we, for the first time I've ever seen, actually set up a return up front. Why wait until the last punt of the year? I don't know.

Why the hell didn’t McMahon play before today? He sure looked a lot better today than anybody we’ve had out there in the Bloom era.

No live stats on RiceOwls.com either. Class operation.

First off, nice Rice win (which I completely missed).

But I can give some insight on the stats issue. Normally, I'm the one inputting the stats (which connect to Gamecast and Gametracker, and the others), but today was the one and only home game I missed this season. They had a substitute inputter, but he had never worked with this new program (which is new for Rice and the rest of the NCAA this year). He had done basketball, but not football, and there is a learning curve with it.

Unfortunately, he just got messed up from the beginning, and had to spend the rest of the game catching up. Honestly, the program is awesome, but it's not as simple to run as one might think.

Anyway, great Rice win. McMahon did play one or two snaps against Houston (at one point Constantine's helmet came off, and McMahon was in on that next play). And I think he had a few snaps at Texas as well. And obviously, he's been the holder all season. But congrats to him on a gutsy effort.

Rice HC Mike Bloomgren on Gabe Taylor's game-winning INT:

"I think he played with a heavy heart today. This is the 14th anniversary of his brother (Sean) passing away. Just the way the football gods worked, to have that last interception land in his hands was perfect for him."
