Troy should go 1-1 with the 2 games in Week 1.
Carver College will be a blowout in Troy's favor.
Butler will be an interesting game. In Year 3 of Scott Cross's rebuild we should finally see substantial improvement from our guys and Butler is coming off a down season last year where they went 10-15 and finished second to last in the Big East. They will be heavy favorites but hopefully we show we can at least compete and not get blown out, and maybe, MAYBE, sneak out with an upset.

Year 2 of the Berg era at Ga Southern. How much we can improve offensively will determine what kind of year we will have

App has a tough opponent tonight in Iona. Made the tournament last year and is the heavy favorite this year in the MAAC with Rick Pitino on the sidelines.

Never forget... Scott Cross had quite a few upsets in his time at UTA as an underdog.
Beat Texas, Ohio State, Memphis... and whooped a #12-ranked St. Mary's College.

I dont expect the mavs to put up much of a fight this year. not much size and coaching change not a good combination. barely got by their exhibition oponent. I will be watching and hoping for the upset.

Lol nice pun. Under JJ we were never a good 3 pt team but our defenses have been good. We will see if we got any better at shooting this season.

Couple years back, when Danny Kaspar was our Coach, we’d run some defense’s that’d drive you crazy. He gone, Uni. Named an internal Asst. as interim, then gave him the job full time . . . Not really sure what to expect this season. Think the D will still be tight, not sure at this point if we’ll be able to “shoot” a lot anyway.
Good luck to us all . . ..

Hopefully we will get better at BB as a conference together. I don't know if we will be playing in FunBelt next year but i hope that happens.

That time of year when we play teams no one has heard of and root for major upsets.

RE: Week 1– Belt basketball (Tues 11/9 thru Sun 11/14)
We had 2 good exhibitions against Oral Roberts and Mississippi St. However, we have 4 guys already injured with 2 of them most likely getting starting or significant playing time. So we have a lot of young guys playing and making a lot of offensive mistakes.
I don't know what our team will be like but I'm not expecting much. Southern Illinois was picked to finish 5th in the MO. Valley, so we will learn a lot about the team tonight.

When the newbies come in we need to eliminate ot at least limit each team to 1 of these games

And then tomorrow night we get the worst that NAIA has to offer!
Carlow is 2-67 over the past three seasons... But hey, they've already got their one win for the season this year and are 1-1 after losing 94-81 at Penn State! Scratch that, losing 94-81 at Penn State - Greater Alleghany.
Tomorrow's game might be even easier than Saturday's.

Out of curiosity I looked at PSUGA's schedule and over the course of the year they play Penn State Beaver, Penn State Wilkes Barre, Penn State Scranton, Penn State Fayette, Penn State Schuylkill, Penn State Hazelton, Penn State Leigh Valley, Penn State Brandywine, Penn State New Kensington, Penn State York, Penn State Mont Alto, Penn State Shanango, and Penn State Du Bois over the course of the season.
