Just wondering if this means Penny is going to get hammered, personally. Is the fact that he hired counsel a good thing, as in Jerry Tarkanian move?

It seems to me if he retained counsel personally, he is personally being accused of actions as an Athletic Booster (which I think is a terrible interpretation of the events).

So it makes we look at all the questions around why did he seek counsel. That is all. Nothing meant to be a negative nellie at all.

And Ma, I get it that the IARP timeline states the 10/25/2021 response is just that.

Penny is smart and savy. There seems to be some who wish he weren't. lol
But they don't like the fact they are ignored by Penny and the BB program. lol again

If you are going to be in a room of Lawyer types you should have a lawyer if you can afford it...

Something that has been bothering me for quite some time. If EVER giving money to the University of Memphis makes you a booster for life, and "boosters" cannot be involved in recruiting, are we required to only hire coaches that have never donated to the University?

And how about John Calipari's status as a booster. He donated a pretty good sum to the University while he was here as I recall.

So, does that mean he should not have recruited after that donation? (SARCASM)

I understand the always hire counsel when in a setting where legal types are involved. The timing of the revelation that his counsel replied on his behalf is what I find curious. That is all.

But it likely does not mean a thing.

I am wondering if they are requesting a specific statement or response from Penny personally or something of that nature and that is why he retained counsel at this time.

So isn't this where Leslie Ballin, a great attorney, steps in?

Maybe Penny just sought his counsel?

Maybe it's like the medicare commercials where he called to get everything he's entitled to?
