Who does everyone want to see their teams matched up with for bowling season? Would love to see UTSA beat the brakes off of Coastal and their weak SOS, or a match up with Texas would be awesome before we lose Frank Harris.

BYU will be in the Indy Bowl vs a CUSA team and since they were in the WAC with UTEP back in the day, I'd love for the Miners to have a shot at them.

I think I would like FAU to play another AAC team in the bowl. We're joining that conference soon, so it is never too late to start showing that we are not going to be bottom feeders there.

We're just trying to keep a QB ambulatory.

Isn't the Conference USA champion playing BYU in Shreveport? Or is the CUSA champ contracted to any other certain bowl?

I bet the New Mexico Bowl or Frisco is salivating at the opportunity to host UTEP. Gotta think UTEP fans would be eager to travel for that especially if UTEP gets at least 8 wins, which is a very real possibility.

I don't think the champ is contracted to a bowl but most likely the Indy bowl would get their choice. Normally La Tech would be there priority but probably not this year. I would bet they want UTSA at this point. Number 2 choice may be UAB or WKU. UTEP will likely go to the NM Bowl or Frisco Bowl. My 1st choice as a fan would be to play BYU in a bowl but my choice doesn't matter.

At this point I just want to make a bowl game. Still not sure what to think of this Marshall team.

What are our bowl tie-ins this year?

As a Monarch fan, it was hard to remember what a Bowl is. But seriously, Id love to see UTSA match up against Coastal.

Serious question here cause it’s never happened. If Cincinnati gets into the playoffs would that open another NY6 spot for next the highest ranked group of 5 team? Or we’re out of luck on that. SMU is ranked higher at 19 but UTSA could certainly end up ranked higher. It’d be awesome to see a CUSA team in an NY6 bowl.

24/7 has us in the NM Bowl against Wyoming. They're 4-3 (0-3) and have scored 17 points in their conference games. I'd take that in a hot minute. BYU would probably beat us. Ditto other projections I've seen (Air Force, Fresno). I can understand the fan interest in BYU, but I'd rather get that 55 year monkey off our backs.

As much as I would love this, I have doubts about th conference title game. It's going to be either WKU or FAU and we will struggle with either. We do great against traditional drop back QBs. Perry is mobile and Zappe gets rid of the ball before we can get to him.

If MT makes a bowl game, I'm sure it will be The Bahamas so that our Prez can have another tax-paid vacation.

No, because the CFP semifinals are considered part of the Access Bowls, Cincinnati would satisfy that requirement as the highest-ranked Gang of 5 champion. The remaining bids beyond the two in the Sugar and the two in the Rose will be at-large bids for the Fiesta and the Peach, which will likely go to single-loss Power 5 Conference schools ranked in the Top 12.

Also, the highest-ranked Gang of 5 champion goes to the Access Bowl, even if there are Gang of 5 schools in other leagues that didn't win a conference title but was ranked higher than that Gang of 5 champion. That's how UConn backed into the Fiesta Bowl in 2010.

I wouldn't go that far. WKU and MTSU have been there before and it's not a good thing. If they're bowl eligible, they should get a bowl. Now, if it comes down to who gets the better CUSA bowls, priority should be given to the ones who remain in CUSA. Obviously that won't happen because I don't make the decisions. LOL

Probably won't have a choice. CUSA is loaded with direct tie-ins unlike the Sun Belt 10 years ago with their bid in New Orleans that always went to Louisiana no matter how they did. CUSA will likely send 9 teams to bowls this year with 4 of the 9 going to teams remaining in CUSA after 2023.
