Yes, but it is a surprise statement this year.

Lester Quinones did not merit a second team selection. Forbes is considered the better player.

hot points from coaches interview so far:
houston: this will be marcus sasser and fabian white team..they are the clear stars of houston...team needs to improve as the season goes along.. not great now, but can be
usf: drastically better shooting team than last year, but the capability to play defense is worse...but the defense played horrible after their covid break last year, so it could be just a net postive of better offense..big question mark (tons of new players) is players maintain level of play despite step up in league..
wichita: they feel disrespected being picked 4th despite "winning" the league last season .. also this will likely be tyson etienes last year (has 3 years of eligibility)

Etienne had promises of being drafted but thinks he can go higher by playing more on ball this year and showing he can create for others and himself. He also said he really didn't want to go out with the way the Drake game went for him.

WSU won the regular season last year (see LINK for background). It is a fact - your quotation marks notwithstanding.

why would you link to a thread that makes you look bad.. lol reading that thread was hilarious...im sure everyone will remember Wichita as the aac best team, like you noted with certainty.. but i actually commend you, you gaslight and stick to a troll wholeheartedly and i surprisingly think that's endearing..to think that whole thread was because i said penny still had to earn his stripes LMAO...
and i put quotes around the winning, to not say they didnt win it..but to note that everyone recognizes the circumstances of last year, they wouldnt vote you #1 the following year for winning on those circumstances...

Glad to read you acknowledge WSU was the superior regular season team by record last year.

Says a lot about the respective coaches. Sampson on a level by himself in this conference.

He is terrific. I hope the Tigers are competitive when playing against his team, but it will be difficult.

RE: AAC Basketball media day is this week! Time to get EXCITED!
the last 2 coach interviews for today
Temple: really emphasized that they mostly played freshmen and first-year players last year...and from strict Philly covid protocol, had zero practices last summer and regularly canceled practices for even covid threats.. notes how they will not only a year older, but will have an offseason.. thinks team is deep and vastly improved but quick to note that is meaningless from playing each other, it won't mean anything till they show it in games
SMU: the team is bonding faster than expected, think the aac will have a historic year. arguably the best noncon for smu in 30 years
the rest tomorrow

thats nonsensical.. and based on a dumb point that wichita can play houston, but houston cant play houston...houston was forced to play #68 wichita
no one with common sense not trying to troll can say they played a tougher con schedule

Wichita won the conference playing a stronger conference schedule. That is just reality. Houston was the better team, but Wichita took care of business and won the regular season championship. Have some class and accept it.

Just going with the numbers bro. They beat you and you beat them. But they had a better record.
They won the league big dog.. no asterisk
Also both their losses in conference were to top 35 teams and away games.
Houston lost to 155 ecu and 121 Tulsa
I’ll take WSU in conference record all damn day. They only lost to the other 2 best teams.

no one is denying that they won it.. im just countering your point that they played a harder schedule
They didnt play Memphis a second time and didn't play @cincy, didnt play smu at all (especially before the covid break)
they played only 3 of their projected top 7 hardest games in a league they won by 1 game
Sampson who normally doesnt complain about stuff like this even noted it, when memphis was trying to force its hand to play Houston a 2nd time. (memphis needed houston to get into the tourney).. memphis turned down a wichita game to play houston, and samspon noted why houston is being forced to play all of its tough games , and the team technically atop the standings was not getting games to reschedules
from a tournament standpoint it made sense only houston was a tourney lock and thus everyone needed to beat Houston to have shot a bid and thus prioritized getting housotn on the schedule.. but from a fairness point just within the conference it made no sense
