He consistently proves he can recruit for his offense and execution and be very successful without 4 and 5 stars. Would you guys want Penny to be able to continue to recruit supposed high level talent or improve dramatically in his coaching ability?

Penny has already adapted. He's recruiting shooters to fit his system.

Need a big who can pass like that big lumber Jack guy for Loyola CHI. Dude has IQ and passing like the modern NBA big. His bounce passes are lethal.

Sure would’ve been nice to snag Mike Miller’s son.

I'm with aardWolf. Keep recruiting as high as possible and keep getting better. I think the offensive change has been the biggest step in his college coaching growth so far.

IMO Dandridge's passing ability and to a lesser extent Cisse's is underutilized when it comes to facilitating. Dandridge not being used more in this role is one of the more disappointing things for me.

Been to the tournament 3 times in 12 years. They are one of the most experienced teams in college basketball too. I will take Penny any day because there is much more potential.

First, if Dandrige made all the 1 foot, flat footed, under the basket dunks that he has missed, we would be undefeated. Passing ability my azz.

Second, if Cisse could catch a fast pass under the basket and go straight up and dunk, we would be undefeated. He has just got to work on his hands. Yes, he is a freshman that should still be in high school...but he ain't. He is in D1 high level basketball and he just has to get it done. Period.

He's doing both. I think he has improved dramatically in his coaching ability this year.

This^^

If Malcolm could score if he was not doubled he would be just as dangerous.

But of Malcolms success will be determined if he can get a good strong base...Right now he is playing stiff legged because of those knees.

I'm cool if Cisse just becomes Joey Dorsey 2.0. Dunk, rebound, block shots and keep the ball moving if you get it at top of key. No dribbling and for love of god no shooting.

I would like to see Penny not be so impressed by 4 and 5 star rankings and find some dogs and kids who can shoot. Not who WILL shoot, but CAN shoot.

RE: NTR -Loyola Coach Porter Moser
Shooters are developed. You develop them by letting them shoot and drawing up plays to get them open shots. Most fans can't stand the cold streaks they go through--cold streaks are normal for a shooter.

I don't see how those things you mention relate to their passing ability.

Also that's not quite true about being undefeated with Dandridge makes. Without even looking at where he missed we lost to VCU by 11 and he when 0-2. He was 4-5 in the first Houston game and going 5-5 is still negated by Houston's last second shot. In the second Houston game he didn't take any shots. And this of course ignores other players making more shots.

For the season Dandridge has only taken 78 FGA this season which works out to 3.4 per game. And he made 56.4% of those which is the best FG% on the team followed closely by Cisse at 55.4%. No one else is over 50% with Williams being the closest and 3rd at 48.6%. For extra perspective Lomax is 4th at 45.8%.

I missed the majority of the Dayton game, but looking at the stats that was arguably Dandridge's worst shooting performance for the whole season. Considering how many on this team were bad at finishing this season I can't single him out for his misses at the rim.

There are too many other factors that play into the losses to say those two specific things are the cause. Personally I think they are very low on the list. But neither relate to their passing/facilitating ability.
