Logic sometimes does not work as far as rescheduling college games.

No practicing will certainly benefit this team.03-lmfao

Well #1 for at least another week.

How the heck can they continue to practice but can't play the game?

I would imagine they'll continue practice with those who test negative. This sounds like (is) a fairly contained incident, among one position group.

Maybe its just a certain number of players tested positive that are now in quarantine preventing the game to be played but theres still enough for practice? No idea though

At least the boats going back in the water Saturday and i wont have to miss the game

Bingo. Certain position groups require a specific # of eligible participants in order for the game to happen.

The tricky part is we've now used up the bye week and a second postponement likely turns into a cancellation.
Unless its another team with the virus issue, and you can find another bussable opponent with an open weekend (esp one that also lost an opponent due to virus protocols) on 4-5 days notice, which actually happened quite a bit this past fall.

Example this past weekend UTC/Wofford was "postponed" which looks like it will be cancelled, as neither team has a bye week left. That could very well have So-Con title implications..

I don't see any reason for 'sky is falling' reaction. This has been very common throughout college athletics through the winter sports season and FBS fall football. If you did not expect this to happen at some point either from the JMU side or an opponent side probably living in 'fantasy land'.

Any idea or news if this was coaching staff, player(s), or support staff? Or will there be no release of that information?

Without getting into specifics, I have heard it mainly impacted one position group.

From Coach's update on Monday it sounded like that was the case if you read between the lines.

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
All it takes is for one person to ruin it for everyone, and it doesn't even have to be a player on the team.
Did anyone honestly think this Spring was going to go to according to plan?

Nope, I would be more surprised if it did not happen to each team at least once. I don't see this as a big deal whatsoever.

RE: **POSTPONED**Week 4: W&M @ JMU
FWIW of the 41 games scheduled for next week, W&M @ JMU 1 of only 3 postponed.
https://www.ncaa.com/scoreboard/football...5/all-conf

If you look at all 4 weeks on the NCAA website:
Week 1: 19 games scheduled/7 postponed.
Week 2: 29 games scheduled/4 postponed.
Week 3: 35 games scheduled/4 postponed.
Week 4: 41 games scheduled/3 postponed so far, including W&M @ JMU.

Total 124 games scheduled/18 postponed, about 15%. So if you play 6-8 games, odds are you will have 1 postponement..

RE: **POSTPONED**Week 4: W&M @ JMU
If I remember correctly, the Fall season hovered around 80% of the games played as scheduled. That is a pretty good rate for operating in the pandemic.
Smaller FCS rosters may make it more challenging as position groups get wiped out with less depth.

I wouldn't say anyone ruined anything for anyone else. You can get this virus very easily even if you are doing everything right. Other people can be exposed in close contact, myself included, and not even get it so it is a strange disease.

Hopefully it was one player or coach and the others don't get it and just have to isolate and test negative a certain number of times. If so we should be good to go next week.

On a different note if we do in fact make up W&M game I will most likely have two tickets avaialble.
