I thought they were worse than yesterdays.
Sadly I just saw a picture and I agree. Worse than yesterday. Anyone who claims OER (excluding caps) is still in play isn’t paying attention.
Walt, any past non OER uni examples, post WG arrival and change to OER, you would like to provide? I could not find any but doesn’t mean they weren’t worn.
Still really GREAT win and so happy for the team no matter what version of “R” they wear. Just prepare for the phase out. Don’t believe everything you’ve been told.
Again, the pin strip unis worn on Saturday had the OER. Since Rice decided awhile back to stop using the scripted OE "Rice" lettering, it makes no sense to have the OER and then follow it with a different font lettering. The OER is on the hats. That's our primary athletic logo, and will continue to be so.

BTW, The Roost just confirmed that Garibay was out due to COVID protocol and contact tracing, but the team hopes he'll be available this weekend.

So basically two different fonts on the unis?? One on cap another on jersey? Do you know if other D1 schools that do this? So since it’s “on the cap” that’s makes it official? We’ll see. If OER on cap it should be on jersey
IMO.
Sorry for hijacking this thread on the back uni comments Really not my intent. I just love the classics. Let’s just enjoy the series win and we can see where the OER is in a few years. I give it 3 yrs sadly.

It's all to justify the money spent on the "brand refresh" a few years back. And where are the people who led that, by the way? On to greener pastures, which was their whole goal in the endeavor. Got something to put on their resumes, and off they went. Meanwhile we are stuck here with the chicken head logo and soccer jerseys for our baseball team.
Typical Karlgaard nonsense. I'm sure the "brand refresh" plays a large role on his resume too, since he lacks any other achievements other than women's basketball.
Unfortunately for us, no one is stupid enough to hire him away. Hey other schools, can I interest you in a new AD? He doesn't have the first clue about winning games, doesn't get to know or care about any players (except maybe cross country runners), he'll alienate donors, hire bad coaches, kill your established brand, and your teams will all plummet down the tubes into irrelevancy. But the man sure can blog...you can read all about his marathon training and social justice research! He'll even sit on some "important" NCAA panels! Wow! Get him while you have the chance!

The OER is not a font; it's our logo. Period. What teams put their logo (on their cap) on all their uniform types. None. Not even the Yankees. The OER is going nowhere.

I looked at one D1 school ... and it has a distinctive script initial on its hat ... and that script is on only one of its three weekend unis. The other two have two DIFFERENT (though similar) block-letter fonts.

I thought it looks more like a blue jay than a a chicken. I like logos from back when we were winning ORE for baseball and sailor hat owl for football. Rebranding does not work for losing teams.

And is not needed by winning teams. TexasU has had the UT and the hook'em sign for as long as I can remember, Oklahoma the OU, 'Bama has had the script A and houndstoooth for almost as long, Auburn the AU, Aggies the aTm forever, Notre Dame the interlocking ND and added the Irishman a while back, and except for aTm going back and forth between maroon and white helmets, none of them has really changed their football uniforms in that time. Nor have Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, or Southern Cal (except some minor helmet tweaks).
I like the OE R and I liked the wings on the football helmets. Although to avoid the Philadelphia Eagles look, I'd like to see silver/gray helmets with blue wings--kind of a combination Eagles/Cowboys look, and the fight song does say old gray bonnet. Wings on helmet, OE R on shoulder pads, numbers on sleeves. And for baseball two home unis--pinstripes with OE R and as a StL Cardinals fan I like the bat uni--and two for the road--gray pants with blue and gray jerseys, each with OE Rice.
