My first thought was that her background was one that Democrats would crow about if she ran on their ticket - former welfare recipient, HS dropout, single mom, making it as a restaurant owner, first woman to represent her district (diversity!!!!).

But...no, she is a capitalist, and a gun rights advocate. quick, how many people have been shot in the obviously dangerous confines of her restaurant? My guess is zero.

As for the Quanon, according to this she has recanted. When a democrat such as Biden says something wrong, he is allowed to apologize or "clarify". Why is Big clinging to this Qunon thing?

Haven't looked up the others yet.

Here's some background on Cawthorn. He is apparently on his way to becoming the flagbearer for a significant subset of the Republican party. Sounds like quite a guy.

Interesting you choose to present an obvious hit piece for evidence.

Especially since you support the Plagiarizer-in-Chief and others who have misrepresented themselves, like Blumenthal and Warren, and have been forgiven for their misrepresentations..

The other thought that comes to mind is that, as a handicapped person, this is exactly the kind of person the Dems would be trumpeting if he were a Dem - diversity!!!!.

Because Qanon is so bonkers-over-the-top-are-you-serious-crazy that it is staggering that a proponent (even former proponent if you believe this) of this conspiracy would be elected to national office.

After three years of the bonkers-over-the-top-are-you-serious-crazy Russian-Trump conspiracy theory, it no longer surprises me what people will believe in.

Interesting you choose to present an obvious hit piece for evidence.

So the information in the article is not valid?

Quote:Especially since you support the Plagiarizer-in-Chief and others who have misrepresented themselves, like Blumenthal and Warren, and have been forgiven for their misrepresentations..

I think what Warren did was super lame. I still hold it against her to some extent however she does have a CV that provides some ink for the plus column. I'm struggling to see what Cawthorne has in his plus column.

Quote:The other thought that comes to mind is that, as a handicapped person, this is exactly the kind of person the Dems would be trumpeting if he were a Dem - diversity!!!!.

You keep going back to diversity whereas the fact that he might be disabled, black, Muslim or transgendered doesn't float my boat. I want good, smart, competent people representing us. I don't think he falls into that category. Do you?

No idea, but even if it is 100% valid, there s no disguising that this is a hit piece. After the last four years, hit pieces no longer get my blood boiling.

Blumenthal bothers me more than Warren. Now he is a media darling.

Warren was just trying to pander to the identity party. I was told by my mother when I was young that I had NA blood - even claimed it in middle school. Later on I dropped it, think it was incorrect. Then I had my DNA checked, and LO! - 5%. I think it is probably Mayan, but I don't know. Lots of different tribes in northern Mexico in that time period.

But at least Warren was passing on info from her family - Blumenthal was flat out lying. Either way Democrats are fine with them.

No idea. I did not present these people as the ones who will save democracy - or anything else. Big brought them up. I did not know them from Adam (unless you mean Adam Schiff, another liar lionized by the liberal left).

OTOH, it was your side that said the VP had to be a woman, and a black one was better than a white one. It was your side who celebrated the diversity of the last freshman class, including specifically the future members of the squad.

Just saying, if these people had the "proper" ideology, your side would be celebrating how the addition of a woman and handicapped man would be making the Congress more diverse, and thusly, the world safer.

Heck, I didn't even know who they were until reading this thread. They are pretty obscure. Nor do I know who or what Quanon is.

Finally! A subject about which you claim no knowledge!

Sarcasm aside, I find it very difficult to believe that an obviously well-read and educated person such as yourself has not heard of these things.

Count me as a second who has never heard of Boebert and Green. I have heard of Cawthorne, albeit his career as a representative is only two weeks old or so.

Maybe we just dont read the left-slanted periodicals that you do.

I do know that the subset of right leaning sites I look at, there has been zero word of any of them as being any import whatsoever in the national scene.

Hmph... will let the National Review know they are a left-slanted periodical.

You need to think before you vomit out ridiculous assumptions.

Some of us only scan the NR there.

Perhaps you need to think before you vomit the ridiculous assumption that the three very young and very inexperienced reps get anywhere near an amount of 'right leaning' press, as you seemingly think. Or are taken seriously.

I mean, looking at the history, seemingly the bogeyman Dan Crenshaw has told them to grow the fk up. Amazing that.

All the while the Squad is fairly vocal and front and center in the left spotlight.

Nice job going straight to the pointed explicit dickhead points there, sparkles, without even a bother to pause on the 'snarky as fk' rest point so common to most. On a Saturday to boot.

And I will put in my last paragraph for ya, pardner, just in case you blipped over it. Ill even type it in slower this time for ya: I do know that the subset of right leaning sites I look at, there has been zero word of any of them as being any import whatsoever in the national scene.

The time honored response when asked about one's ancestry is to say, "I'm half Scotch -- and half soda."

(Even though the word "Scotch" is not used to denote people, and Scotch and soda is rather abominable.)

In my case, nearly all of my ancestors were in British North America before the United States existed.* My experience is that this fact, when elicited, is pretty much a conversation-killer. Some people find it irredeemably boring that there are no family tales of old-country villages or Ellis Island -- which I suppose it is: multiple generations of American farmers does not sound exciting. Others consider it offensive, as if one is not "supposed" to have such ancestry -- which makes no sense at all.

*During the American Revolution, one on my mother's side served as an officer in the British army; one on my father's side served in the Continental Congress. If the former had somehow captured the latter, he might well have had him hanged.

The three main branches of my family are English, German, and Spanish. The English and Spanish branches were here before there was a USA(or a Texas or a Mexico). On the Spanish side, one ancestor was given a land grant from the King of Spain. The German branch started with a mercenary who (reportedly) came over to fight for the Brits, was captured and turned his coat to fight for the Continentals, then stayed.

I have since subscribed to two DNA tests, both of which show 5% Native American(in the sense of North America, not US of A) and one of which shows a Northern Mexico source for the NA ancestry. They both agree on a 3% Jewish ancestry also, so in this case it must be a racial rather than a religious designation. Also smatterings from North Africa and the Middle East.

Yep.

OK... well that speaks volumes TBH.

I don't know anything about the Qanin conspiracy theory - never heard of it until the left started talking about it. Don't know the details. Don't know anybody on the right who knows the details or believes it.

But to answer your question in the best way I can, I think the Russia-Trump conspiracy theory ranks right up there with the fake moon landing in believability. Way more unbelievable than the Bigfoot sightings.

Tell me again how that conspiracy started. One day in 2015, Trump calls Vlad and says "Vlad, I am studying my future campaign for President, and I think I just need a little nudge to win Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. I have determined that stealing Hillary's private emails off her unprotected server and publishing them without changing a thing will do that, but I cannot find anybody in the US capable of stealing them. Only Russians are that good. Could you take care of that for me?"

Yeah, I certainly think that is at least as outlandish as the fake moon landing conspiracy.

*edit* It's hard to believe that you guys are completely unfamiliar with QAnon.

Yep.

OK... well that speaks volumes TBH.

I don't know anything about the Qanin conspiracy theory - never heard of it until the left started talking about it. Don't know the details. Don't know anybody on the right who knows the details or believes it.

#'s apparently knows the details because he was the one that said that QAnon is equally outlandish to Trumpgate. You know #'s.

*edit* It's hard to believe that you guys are completely unfamiliar with QAnon.

I think #s said he was somewhat familiar, as am I.

To what extent does "you guys' carry?

And hate to tell you that all the non-leftists don't automatically know one another. I don't know OO, nor do I even know who he is for that matter.

00 said that he didn’t know anybody on the right who is familiar with it. Given the amount of conversation and posts over the years I would say that OO “knows” #s.

See above.

I know Numbers as well as I know you. Never met him in person. Did not know him at Rice. He was two years behind me. I entered with the class of 67.

I have heard of Qanan, but only from left wingers howling about it. Not one peep from any right winger, and I know a few. Just you guys. Sounds like yet another white supremacy claim thrown willynilly at conservatives. For all I know, it is a dozen idiots in a farmhouse in Tennessee, magnified by the power of the liberal press into a mighty monster.

When conspiracy theorists complain about other conspiracy theorists, I tend to have better things to occupy my time.
