Something to consider given how late we are playing this championship and how close it is to most of the affiliated bowls, won’t be easy to book hotels on a 5-6 day notice that close to Christmas. We either know where we are going and don’t want to get ahead of ourselves(“one game at a time”)in regards to announcing it or we’ll be playing a bowl game after Christmas.

Who knows, maybe the bowls can workout the hotel arrangements? This is all wacky to me.

This is why I have been posting to know something. We would like to make a trip and want to know as soon as possible so we can make reservations. This will likely be our “Christmas” this year since most of our family is either traveling or quarantining, and we won’t have family commitments. And if we don’t travel to a bowl game, we may very well spend Christmas in Mexico. So we would love to know something sooner rather than later.

Any word on how the bowls are going to change their requirements for things like Schools selling a minimum number of tickets? How are payouts affected? Could be a financial bath for a program

It would be vs Tulsa but I would take it. Be a great sendoff for the seniors and Legion Field.

The hints I am hearing are we are Birmingham Bowl bound. And the fact that the list of other possibilities is narrowing for us makes this seem more and more probable.

I guess if this was going to have to happen, this is a good year for it, since we didn’t get to “finish” at home.

I hope so. It's really a perfect scenario for this year only. Give the players, who missed out on a senior day, and fans a proper send off to Legion Field. Plus it allows the greatest amount of fans to attend and would be best for our budget in a down year (receive bowl payout but without offsetting travel expense).

Birmingham Bowl is 11:00 AM on New Years Day. Gotta be honest, that sounds miserable.

I know I am way behind on this, but they are letting teams without six wins be eligible for bowl games this year?

Any idea when our bowl will be officially announced?

You don't need six wins to be in a bowl game for this year.
They may announce it later this week or next.

Virginia Tech AD Whit Babcock said team should determine in next 24 hours if it will accept bowl bid. If Hokies opt out, only 6 of 15 ACC teams will play in a bowl this season.
