Well didn’t you know? It’s painfully clear that there are not enough bowl opportunities for the Sec. they won’t rest until a winless Vandy gets an invite.

Curious that most of those making bowl predictions cannot be thinking that UAB will play in the conference championship game. Because there is no way we play on Dec. 19--in Huntington, WV--and then turn around and play in Myrtle Beach on 12/21, or Boca Raton, New Orleans or even Montgomery on 12/23.
So though I am not exactly wild about a trip to Mobile (Saturday, 12/26), that seems to be our most likely destination if we win this Saturday against Rice,, and play in the CUSA championship game the next Saturday. Or possibly the New Mexico Bowl (which has been moved to Frisco, TX this year, and will be played on on Thursday, 12/24). And then there's the outside shot at playing in the Birmingham Bowl on New Year's Day, which normally I would hate the thought, but since we didn't get our farewell game in at Legion Field, that would work.
I really hope we get to keep the bowl streak alive, and we are planning to try to make it to any of those listed above.

Brett McMurphy reported earlier today that sources told him if Cincy beats Tulsa in the AAC championship then Tulsa will go to the Birmingham Bowl. Also had Memphis going to Montgomery bowl.

McMurphy is a pretty good insider so I wonder how many of those are more than projections at this point—and they have already agreed.
Anyone hear any inside information or hints where we might end up? What are the legitimate choices now? Birmingham? Montgomery? New Orleans? Boca Raton?
Still hoping for Mobile personally.

This is the one year I'd really like to be in the Birmingham Bowl. Would be nice to get one final send off at Legion Field for the players and the fans. Plus that way more of the fan base could attend since most people are still uncomfortable traveling. Hopefully someone can make this happen.

Some conference mates are getting some very quality bowl opponents. Troy vs Memphis in Montgomery Bowl and SMU vs UTSA in the Frisch Bowl. Here’s hoping we play a desirable bowl opponent that is challenging

I’d hope we already have an idea within Athletic department as to which 2-3 bowls we are likely going to. Would be shi*ty for teams appearing in championship game to have to choose from ‘best of the rest’. That’s why I don’t like the tie-in forcing us to Boca Raton if we win in a normal or prior season.
Boca Raton is hosting UCF vs an ACC team. Think this is a new agreement between those leagues coming into the season rather than a scramble to find teams during a pandemic. Let’s see UCF vs Miami or FSU for that matter.
I’d like to play in the Birmingham Bowl. Let’s see Cincinnati lose their game next week and be forced into Birmingham vs UAB
