RE: COVID-19
Drexel's game at Penn State today was cancelled for COVID. No mention of which program is having issues.

This link at least allows you to see the video and first few PPs. Basically concerning drastic changes to university structure including cutting tenure.

RE: COVID-19
U of Minnesota featured on Sixty Minutes last evening...focused on they're dropping men's three men's teams: swimming, gymnastics (two years ago they won the NCAA Championship), & track & field.

Announcement was made in a terse email and phone call in which they were read a statement by the AD with no comments permitted. It read lots like the Stanford announcement we used.

Anyway, no going back at the Gophers...the sports are gone and coaches were let go. Athletes upset, but no apparent care from students and alums.

COVID-19
William & Mary students limited COVID-19 cases to 71 in the fall. Here’s how they did it.

Oh, for sure.

< 1% is an amazing percentage anywhere, but at a university where other state schools had to go completely or hybrid virtual? That almost defies reality.

Shows what can happen when people follow basic guidance.

It isn't actually. If all the students were in Swem then there would be potential contagiousness to deal with, unless the students were being careful in all aspects of their life.

I was going to reply with the same but figured it best to not feed it. Good job, WMInTheBurg

Actually, I thought it was pretty funny, in a sarcastic way. We've always known that there was a "bubble" over Swem (which was, obviously, closed up tight, trapping everyone inside, on Game Day).

04-cheers

I never went to Swem library once to study in my entire four years. I also never took a class that required me to do any research there. I know I was there at some point because I remember the lobby. Maybe I was dragged in there by a girlfriend or something. Now, if I knew they had free donuts......

Yes, I was bummed to read that because they never had free doughnuts when I was there!

(If I knew how to do it, I would get a .gif of Homer Simpson drooling and saying "ummmm, dooooooooonuts".

Does anyone have an idea of how many W&M classes were in person vs hybrid vs virtual?

ps I thought the Swem comment was funny!

Rumor has it that vaccine distribution will begin with healthcare workers Dec 15. Will be part of a lonnnnnnggggg process, so we are likely in this for another year before totally "controlled."

That's in synch with what I'm seeing and my physician told me. My guess is that we will be back to near normal in about April of 2022.

And then there's the part about tens of millions of people who will refuse to get the vaccine. That's when the fur is really going to fly. This is one of those times when I would support a top down, Federal intervention for public health and safety.
