My question is do we really need another WR? We have noted that CJ Parks has not played this year.
If the kid can run then, yes, he's needed. EMU has really good receivers but lacks a burner that can stretch the field. Jackson and Sexton are missed.

Agree, 'Nickle.

Our receivers aren't getting separation.

It looks like both of the JUCO DL we've offered would be from Dodge City KS:

Maurice Campbell II 6'1 290 4 offers
Letitaia Lologo III 6'1 290 offers from us South Alabama and Southeast MO

Less I be wrong, we have only 2 DL commits so far. Plus a Navy transfer.

I'm not sure what position Carter Evans will play.

From what some of the coaches had put out there it seemed like they had Evans as a DE.

Think I remember that. The next Mad Maxx? The smallish DE who has speed more like a RB. Speed kills.

If he has any type of bend and a motor he will be an immediate help. Whoever has been recruiting DE's and LB's needs help or a new strategy.

With signing day approaching next week there maybe a few late offers it appears to high school seniors. Maybe walk-ons.

Some may find this interesting. It is Rivals.com and has search filters.

This is one year I wouldn't make any predictions.

I expect few or no walk-ons. We might push up to say 95 - 100 scholarship players. Plus we already have some walk-ons. I don't know if the hard cap for the NCAA is say 105 (???).

I still believe rather than to go for 'Plan B' recruits, coaches may save 1 or 2 until at least Feb for grad transfers.

If I were C.C. and to add another recruit now for Dec signing it would be a mid-year transfer eligible and most likely a DL or perhaps LB.

No way would I take a mid-year JUCO QB, RB, OL, TE, etc.

Yes. One of the 'unintended consequences' of this Covid-ruined season is that by pushing the season back the end of the season and the early signing period run into each other.

Ideally, coaches should have a few weeks after the last reg game to talk with the players about the plans for the next season.

One thing I WISH the NCAA would do is allow FBS players who didn't play AT ALL in 2020 to transfer to a FCS school and play their 2020 season there.

No, but we are really stacked up at certain positions (e.g., QB) and because of the 'bonus' year things are a mess with the numbers getting large. Some teams could have say 100 players on scholarship next year, not counting walk-ons. Lest I had a brain fart, no other QB beside Hutch has played QB. I think we may have what 7 or 8 TEs plus two recruits who could play TE (Carter Evans can play TE, FB, DE, etc.).

One way to handle this, would be, indirectly foster transferring to FCS.

Also as I mentioned, I doubt most teams will be looking for walk-ons. Most teams will literally be in say the 95 - 105 players on board, if they use all of their available 'new scholarships' (which would bring them up to 85).

As we all know, 2020 has been a year which caused people, organizations, etc. to toss all of the plans out the window and wing it.

BTW, another point of reference: We talk about JUCOs, mid-year JUCOs, etc. but lest I be wrong, weren't all JUCOs suspended from playing during the fall???

Aren't they going to play a spring season like the FCS D-I teams???

How do you evaluate JUCO players who aren't playing this year to date?

As I also said, somewhere, coaches are in a bind. Recruits will want to sign next Wednesday but I bet some coaches are having second doubts about how all of this will play out and would prefer to play it slow and safe.

I assume C.C. has had discussions with all of his seniors as to their plans/hopes.

E.g., Michael Smith Jr. made it clear that he wants to come back for "another" senior year.

E.g., does someone like Stiebeling have his degree? Want to move down for an opportunity to play?

Quite frankly, some 5 year seniors may not be asked back. If C.C. has a young player at his position and wants him to get PT, he may encourage the player to explore his other options.

Some 5 year seniors may be ready to give up the game...

FWIW, this is the link for the 2021 NCAA CFB transfer portal. It's the Christmas season so you can search for a 'gift' for our FB team.

Great idea how about this one for starters who just entered the portal?
