Since August - 70,000 Covid cases reported by colleges - 3 Hospitalizations, 0 Deaths
They catch it, drink pedialite (likely spiked with vodka) for about 5-8 days then go back to “normal”.
Daughters school has had thousands of cases, no hospitalizations, near all of them cleared and gone after 10 day period. Now reporting 0-10 or so cases a day.
Over 300 (I think 315) quarantine beds available, 288 open.

As I've said a thousand times before, we've been brainwashed into thinking that covid19 is the black plague.
OH NO!!! I'VE GOT COVID19!! I'M DOOOOOMED !!
For someone of college age, getting food poisoning and having the sh!ts for two days is a worse fate.

Owl, I hope your daughter will be well and have no issues. When my daughter was in college, the swine flu was making it's rounds. She came down with it and she was told she had to leave school. I flew in and we drove home in her car. She had what I would call a very mild case of the flu. I remember how I felt when she called and told me she had it. Any parent is worried, but it was nothing serious. Hope you have the same resolution with your daughter.

Yes, I posted this to the "realignment" board by mistake, so it was shifted to the Spin Room.

No. From my son, his friends at Auburn and around the country all figure they will catch it. Maybe twice. He actually knows two people who caught it back in March and got it again recently.

Data is wrong. Purdue (which hasn't been hit as hard as many campuses) has 3 hospitalizations noted on its official site. My daughter soon may become case #4. She checked into the student rec center (which also serves as the covid testing site on campus) yesterday morning because she felt awful and was rushed to a local hospital later that day. She was given some IV's and antibiotics, and was thankfully released last night but she was still in the ER for 12 hours or so. Whether it's covid related or not is yet to be determined.
Additionally, I'd venture to say that most of the isolation spots on campuses are basic hospital set-ups. The students there are quarantined and/or isolated, and given some basic medical attention. Purdue currently has 57 (58) beds occupied out of 940 available spots. I know first hand too that students who are in this section of campus are given a hospital-like bill.
My guess is that campuses don't count hospitalizations unless (a) it's proven to be covid related and (b) perhaps they require a minimum number of days in a hospital to count it as such? The single-day check-in and check-outs probably don't count but I can let you know if Purdue updates that number. I'd say that from the Purdue parents facebook site that I've easily counted 20 to 30 parents who have talked about similar experiences for their freshmen students - a quick trip to ER and then a brief stay in the isolation/quarantine spot on campus until they were feeling better.
I hope she gets well soon from whatever she has.
My son got it. Had two mild days, two days where he felt horrible and then by day 7 was 100%. And seems to have gotten it worse than anyone he knows and he knows lots who have had it. The worst continuing symptom of his friends was someone who doesn't really have his taste back after 4 months.

My brother (53) is a cancer survivor and got it two weekends ago and said he's had worse hangovers. Had a low fever for two days and went back to work two days later.

Not very likely...
a few weeks ago there were only 2 reported double infections, in the whole world.

Unless they lied to him. They said they had tested positive both times. And had similar symptoms both times. 6 months is a long stretch

Had an older friend of mine who got Mono a few years ago. He stayed out West on a self-lockdown for 6 months. He was a built guy who always exercised and was in shape, but the Mono took him down bad. It's been about two years and he's since mostly recovered, got married and just had his first baby daughter. Point is, that case of Mono he got was waaaay worse than almost all of the CoronaChinabug cases, and although it took him out of commission for 6 months and had long-term effects, no cities, states or airports were shut down for him.
It seems to be the unequal application of fear, scare-mongering and unhinged-ness that is hurting most poor people in this country far more than any actual virus. Most who end up "dying from Covid" were already in bad shape or had an underlying pre-existing health issue far more serious than the CoronaChinabug. Too many people have been wrongly attributed to the CoronaChinabug statistics to render them almost totally meaningless. It is counter-productive to focus on "Cases". When this is mostly over, and responsible, ethical scientists look back on the numbers, we will likely find the truth that only a small portion of those reported to be seriously affected or died from the CoronaChinabug actually were--likely as few as 10% to 15% or even less. But MSM agenda and SwampConrol say press on with the misinformation.
Most people feel worse and have more effects from a seasonal flu or food poisoning, as reported above. A few will be the unlucky ones who, no matter what, just happen to be susceptible, and there's little to nothing that all the shutdowns, fear-mongering or authoritarian control will do to change that. But, I hear from the Left that looting and rioting and smashing windows helps cure CoronaChinbug, so there's that.

That chart shows it falling off close to zero. Are you being facetious?

Well, if we are honest with ourselves, the faster more healthy people catch this virus the better we'll all be in the long run. Of course, that is the OPPOSITE of what you will hear in the MSM.

I saw an article yesterday I believe that said only 2 states in the country had lower covid case totals last week than the previous week? Those 2 states were Alabama and Hawaii. Some might have been holding steady but most are going up.
I will say that the majority of cases continue to be relatively minor. My daughter is doing better already (and we don't even know yet if she tested positive for Covid - it could easily have been something else).

You test, you get cases.
How many folks did we test for the H1N1? SARS? Any of the others? Hundreds I guess. No one batted an eye.
Cases are mostly meaningless, 99.something # are feeling better after a few days and done with it by 10. Esp in places like college campuses.
I’m smelling a rat, here.

Update on my daughter - she's in isolation on campus for 2 weeks but is fine. Symptoms already better. She has received conflicting test results - the campus test came back negative, the hospital test came back positive. So take that for what it's worth (both were nasal swab tests).
I did confirm with the school that in their case hospitalizations require (a) being admitted to the hospital and (b) an overnight stay. In her case, she was in the ER section only and didn't stay overnight so that wouldn't qualify. My guess is that is why the college cases are so low in terms of hospitalizations. It's going to take a very severe case to admit someone and keep them overnight or for several nights.

The hospital gets paid for a positive test, the campus doesn't.
