As a person who frequented the Field House it has me thinking, I didn’t leave the ODU fan base, it left me. There are plenty of other mediums or separate threads for partisan rant. It is true our team isn’t playing but let’s use our synergy to cheer or critique our sports program. There is no sense in financially supporting something that seemly is no longer fun or entertainment.

Fact is trump (and band of groupies) all wanted to believe Covid was a hoax. What’s the saying MAGA supporters like to use? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes? Well I think it appears that MAGA supporters (such as yourself) had no issue with the 200,000+ Americans dying from Covid, so don’t get mad when people point out the irony of agent orange -who has multiple health risks- getting Covid.

America is a great nation, and deserves a better president than Donald Trump. I suspect that this is likely a majority viewpoint in this nation.

The more difficult question, regrettably, is whether a Biden-Harris presidency would be better or worse. There a a lot of policy considerations that go into that, and I have no problem with someone who thinks that a progressive approach is what is now needed. But focusing strictly on our national response to the coronavirus, President Trump shines in comparison to the chicken-hearted, sneering approach of Joe Biden and the Democrat Party.

I ain't mad at you, and I'm definitely not a Trump supporter. But, if you want determine the cause of so many deaths, you really ought to start with the Governors who sent sick people into nursing homes.

If I want to read the same lousy talking points from the left or the right, I'll log into Facebook. I'm actually interested in talking about this virus itself and our response to it, so why don't you leave the discussion to the adults? We don't agree, but at least we can have a insightful conversation.

Here's my take on the whole situation regarding the positive cases in the administration: maybe we're making a bigger deal out of it than should be the case. Sure, I understand the left wants to point fingers and laugh, but maybe, these adults were simply willing to take the risks associated with living their lives as normally as possible, and if they got COVID, so be it. I guess, we'll all get to see how the risk taking game plays out for them, but I have no problems whatsoever with adults making that choice. Heck, that's all a bunch of us have been asking for anyway.

But Coach what about all the potential cases of covid these people will give to others? If you live in a bubble and want to risk contamination then fine, but if you are willing to take the risk, you shouldn't spread it to other, non concenting people.

My question is why are so many willing to risk others health simply because they don't like being told what to do? This is a very self centered point of view and is exactly what is wrong with our country. Shared sacrifice is a thing of the past.

The only problem with this viewpoint is that if there is any person that needs to be excepted, it’s the president. The Secret Service has broad authority to trounce on people’s rights when it comes to protecting the security of the president, but this administration has apparently not taken a similar approach to protecting his health. They weren’t even following their own protocols, much less ones that the vast majority of us follow every day.

This thread has run its course on our main board. If y’all want to keep it up, it’s here on the smack board.

Who are these non-consenting people that are forced to be around people who choose not to wear masks? Don’t they have the choice to walk away?

I’m all for shared sacrifice, and if you knew me and actually looked at my life, you’d see the evidence of it, but I’m against the idea of government-mandated “sacrifice.”
