Oh, and I for one am happy that our coach didn't go for the cheap, meaningless FG when we drove to the Irish 19 yard line down 45-0. That's an admission that you're so vain you just care about optics instead of actual on field success.

I realize reading comprehension might not be the strong suit at that bastion of academic excellence that is Georgia State, but you'll notice that I fairly consistently suggested throughout the thread that USF was going to get beaten badly. In fact, I'd say my meme was spot on - we felt the pain.

If that was the intention, lumping it in with the other statements made it pretty unclear.

Thank you for helping to make my point. The McNeese game was Labor Day, 2013. Three seasons and a few lumps later, USF was 7-1 in conference and tied with Temple for the division title.

Gotta agree with Rob here. Nobody is looking backward at UCF. Give them the props they deserve. Was also great seeing Kenz suited up, sure hope he gets another shot.
Now with the sunshine pushed aside I do always hope UCF loses every game.

What’s your point, that USF could get better? Yes, we know, the same can be said for every single team in college football. However UCF DID, USF COULD, but the doesn’t necessarily mean they will anytime soon, only time will tell.

I love the part where this kid, a Notre Dame fan, states that he thinks UCF is only ranked so high because of what we’ve done in the past. I know it’s just a kid, but the hypocrisy in that statement just amazes me.

Pretty much, since it was suggested upthread that somehow getting smacked around would create a culture of losing. Sometimes these threads become like herding cats. You make one point and somebody else crops up and thinks it's a very different point.

Lol... pretty amazing.
“It’s all gone.” -about UCF’s team. Sure, kid.
Thoroughly unimpressed with a road win with 660 yards of offense and 5 takeaways.

RE: *** Official #12 USF @ #7 Notre Dame Thread***
Did the shut out suck? Yes. Did we have opportunities to score? Yes. There were at least 2-3 opportunities for TDs that we missed.
The team kept fighting, but this felt like a worse version of the 2013 game against Miami. Strong's terrible recruiting has left us undersized at every single position. That said, I'm not surprised. We were 17 points away from a bowl game last year and the schedule is enormously more difficult this year. It probably looks worse than it is.
If anything, this year is a blessing in disguise. Literally everyone will get a mulligan and what is one of the youngest teams in FBS will get a chance to play all year and get built up-and get to essentially be a year older next year with the same eligibility. I saw a lot of places where our defensive players were in position and quite simply got run over. That is an issue of size, not of bad schemes. We also forced three fumbles, only recovered one, but we forced them.
FAU up next week, unless their team turns up sick. Not going to lie, that is going to be a tough game to watch if we don't have our act together with the two most successful coaches in USF history on the other sideline and likely amped up to revenge the disrespect that we didn't hire one of them in January.

Does his mommy even know he’s on the internet? Of course when any adult needs an expert opinion we always consult with 12 year old nitwits with the life experience of a common housefly. I’ve got underwear older than that kid, with more experience too!

On your last point - we are rivals and that’s the way it should be. It’s not easy for any of us UCF fans to root for you either. Sadly, however (not all our fans will agree) given their coaching staff, being another instate rival, and the fact that you are in conference - please, please beat FAU!

I kept waiting for Wile E Coyote to drop an ACME Safe on him.
RE: *** Official #12 USF @ #7 Notre Dame Thread***
USF sucks right now. Chuckles Strong left the cupboard bare in several positions and undersized in others.
Great news is that Jeff Scott is recruiting a higher level now. Currently top 3 in AAC, so that should help in time.
The other good news is that we (possibly) haven't yet seen the best QB on the roster in Cade Fortin, who has been out the past 2 weeks. Supposedly he will get his shot when able to play.
