A big thumbs up to...
Patrick Mahomes and Deshawn Watson for coming together and suggesting that their teams stay in the locker room during the National Anthem(as they did for decades ago) and then come out for a brief moment of silence in support of equality. I saw nothing about it offended me and I think most of us support that. I have to admit...This is not what I was expecting.

If you cant come out and stand for the flag that allows you to make big money playing a f*cking game, get your ass over to China.

Football players aren't going to change anything. Just play.

Mahomes did stand. All the chiefs stood except for one player. Texans stayed in locker room.

I gotta say, I still don’t get the anger at kneeling. Kneeling is not sitting. People stand or kneel before the cross when they pray. Nobody complains about that being disrespectful.

Frick all of them if they cant stand for the national anthem but think it's ok to hide in the locker room.

You win dumbest post of the day if you dont understand the difference in kneeling for God and kneeling against America.

You were obviously raised somewhere besides America. It is called flag etiquette. Learn it My coach would make us run after the game if he saw us doing anything besides being perfectly still with our eyes glued to the flag. He didn't want us blinking. He always said if you couldn't go a minute without blinking you needed to get your eyes checked.

Yay finally won something.

I would call it kneeling for a better America rather than against America, even if they don’t have their facts straight.

See, I’d prefer kneeling to hiding in the locker room. Obviously you disagree.

Don't watch it don't support it, none of it. There is no logic in disrespecting the flag and anthem that gives them the opportunity to be wealthy.

They didn't disrespect the flag.

It is the public statement, kneeling, as a protest against the flag, the anthem and the country. How can you be so foolish?

What was on the field and the jerseys?

I'll never know unless one of you tells me.

As in the college game the NFL used to not come out until after the anthem. My understanding is that the NFL got paid by some faction of the military to engage in the on field ceremony around 2009. John McCain was involved in this. Players were always free to do so if they wished however.
IMO...It would be the in the NFLs best interest to ditch the cash and go back to the original policy.

They used to not have to "hide" in the locker room. That is where they were..like college until 2009.

A lot of people might not know this..but..Standing for the anthem is actually codified in legal code. its not a law..but a suggestion on how Americans should honor their country. I just think there are better ways to protest and get your message embraced by the masses than "taking a knee" during the anthem. Tonight was a close example of how it that can be done with the players joining arms in a moment of silence for a this cause. I doubt many folks would ever have a problem with that and can embrace that cause. Why in the hell would you do something that you know will be divisive? It makes no sense.

IMO... It would be best for players to respect the country and the fans that give them the opportunity to become wealthy. And they should acknowledge the genocide against whites.

I agree..but..Im fine with the occasional ceremony as long as it is separate from the Anthem ceremony. We have all seen moments of silence for 911 and other tragedies of national importance and none of us have a problem with those things.

Well..That indeed would be fine with me. Unfortunately I fear we are beyond that. Id just like to see some level of compromise be reached that we all can live with.
