Right? Just scrap the national anthem at sporting events. They are private entertainment enterprises, not government or military rites. Why isn't the national anthem played at all concerts and movie showings?

If they were smart they would nix it. Because I WILL walk away from any sport condoning kneeling and/or BLM messaging. When they are outraged at only a small fraction of the deaths of POC, then it’s a bullish!t cause.

As much as I love baseball, I'm prepared to turn it off as soon as they start the SJW nonsense.

Gonna do the same with the NFL. Haven't been an NBA fan so no loss there. Now, I hope that the NHL has enough foreign players that they don't start with the woke agenda. It may be my only hope.

I never came back after the strikes of 80 or 81, cant remember which year it was. I was a huge baseball card collector in the 70's, and that strike turned me off and I never gave a damned again.

Bet you don't see any of the immigrant baseball players kneel to the National Anthem. Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Venezuelans etc. They thank God every morning and night that America Exists.

Joey Votto was one of 4 Reds players who knelt before an exhibition game earlier this week. He's Canadian. From Toronto. The other 3 were African Americans.

to witness live, hockey is the best....and I love 'em all...played all organized majors with that one as the exception (like FL, not much ice in the 'sip...moved here in '74)

fwiw, the 'burg owes a debt to my father, Lou M., and muh left foot to the formation of the HYSA (soccer)...had I not left StL, hockey would've been muh biatch vs. soccer at Vianni....yeah...all I know today is many hrs. on the pond of thin ice....

A liberal Canadian leeching off terrible Americans making millions playing a child’s game. He’s got it so bad. Screw you washed up Canuck

I grew up a Reds fan. Votto doesn’t realize most Cincinnati fans won’t appreciate that.

RE: MLB and Kneeling
So they had a ceremony of some kind where both teams held a long black cloth and all took a knee. I had the TV muted during that but when they stood and played the anthem I turned the volume up and no players knelt. Don’t see why all sports couldn’t compromise and have a kneeling moment of silence and then the anthem. I’d have no problem standing an extra 30 seconds if others wanted to kneel like that. Call attention to your cause, let folks who wanna kneel do so and everyone stand for the anthem. If BLM is honest that it’s not about the flag/ military, they shouldn’t have a problem at all with this.

Also, Fauci’s 1st pitch was one of the worst of all time!

Turned on NYY-WAS opener. BLM with the MLB logo right on the pitcher's mound oriented to the TV camera. *roll eyes*

Everybody on the Dodgers and Giants took a knee while holding a ~180 foot long black cloth to words from Morgan Freeman and a "say one sentence then cut to a different black person and repeat" montage.

BLM MLB logo in black on the mound as well.

I turned it off after that. I'm fine with KBO. I won't be watching any more MLB this season though.

Caught the national anthem of the second game. As soon as I turned it in the camera was fixed of a BLM patch on the jersey. Turned it right off and wont watch another second of mlb.

Doesn’t really bother me. Don’t necessarily see what good it does to kneel, but I don’t really tune in until after the National Anthem anyway.

I do find it funny that people are so offended by it though. They’re fed up with people complaining about being offended, yet turn around and do the same thing.
